I hope you're right (that Murtha is going down), but Murtha will probably say that the Mayor (or Imam) of Haditha briefed him on the 17th and the Marine General confirmed it all a week later. "But I don't blame the troops. Their brains were fried from a lack of leadership and a criminal CIC and Secretary of Defense. They all suffer from PTSD. That's why I support illegal immigration, because there are not enough non-homicidal returning vets to pick tomatoes for the Heinz ketchup plant." (Not really. Just my musings...)

Even so, it could potentially play a pivotal role in the libel/slander suit that the Marine sergeant has brought against murtha. It wouldn't surprise me to see it brought up by the Irey campaign as well. :=)

Murhta shot off his mouth saying he KNEW what happened in Haditha (cold blooded murder) before the briefing. So someone did leak, and I can guarantee you ANYONE talking to Murtha is not going to be a GWB or war supporter.
You can't really do that full scale in the Pentagon, or most agencies for that matter. the top guys, yes. But you'd spend the rest of your life designating middle level guys, and I don't think the laws allow that anyway.

Yes he should, but I think he is obligated to brief the defense committees from time to time. But he was absolutely wrong if he told Murtha that it looked bad for our men.
This whole damn thing has been unreal. The military should have told the Time magizine reporter to take his phony story and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Yes it has! That is why I think it is a good thing the Marine filed a law suit. It seems no one else can stop the fictitious/slanderous/libelous acts by Time, Newsweak, NYS, WaPo etc. Multiple law suits need to be filed every time these "fake" stories are told, IMO.
