More from personal knowledge.

There were three other illegals in car. All have said perp purposely ran over Deputy Callin. Perp will now face murder charges.

He had overstayed his visa. He had about 14 unanswered/unpaid traffic tickets.

Secure our borders, deport all illegals NOW!

It's so sad this happen. Prayers to the deputy's family.

I was on I4 yesterday when they had everything closed off. The had like 2 exits closed down in the area and the other exits were really backed up. They had a huge area roped off and plenty of cop cars out there searching.

We really need to get border security and all these illegals sent home.

I hope the suspect experienced some "assertive interrogative techniques" after his apprehension.

No, imprison them first, then deport them.

Oh, yes. That will stop hit and run drivers.

Making hit and run an immigration issue is anything but rational.

I'll wager there are more hit and runs by drunken florida crackers than by all immigrant classes put together.

Prayers for the family.

And for the perpetrator. He will need them before he is judged in front of the Final Judge.

Is this a different fatality from the police office from nearby Haines City that was struck on his motorcycle on the way to work this morning? Early reports said the office was first hit by one driver then left in the road and run over and dragged quite distance by a semi-tractor trailer. Sounds like someone has confused the two stories maybe?

Either way it's a tragic story and my prayers to out the officer's family.

Another cop was killed by a hit an run illegal near Tampa yesterday. This cop was riding his motorcycle to work when a van "bumped" him. He was run over by two semi's. Three illegals in the van.

The cop was a young guy, sad.

Illegals have already decided US laws don't apply to them, and the more coddling from amnesty now types trolling for the Hispanic vote, the worse it will get.

Two things:
  1. First the usual, a car load of illegals and the driver commits a crime - what a surprise. With officially 12 million (and that means more like 25 million in reality) people who are breaking a low just to be here it's so surprising that they commit crimes < /sarcasm>
  2. Second I wonder if the police would have made such a big effort to find them if a cop hadn't been th victim. I seriously doubt it. The biggest problem with illegals is that they have no fixed identity. They know who they are, but mostly their (forged) documents are not in their own names. They have no fixed addresses, and if they get in trouble it's just back over the border with them

Case in point A woman who used to work for me was rear ended by a truck load of illegals in Norcross. The took off. She called 911 and followed them giving updates to the 911 dispatcher. The police caught them in Roswell. Managed to arrest every one of them on something. Driver had no insurance, no license. They all made bail the next day. When the court date came up - surprise surprise none of them showed up. Warrants were issued - BFD - none of the addresses given were any good. None of the names meant anything. They vanished. They could have moved back to Mexico, 80 miles to Dalton, or just a mile or two and no one would have a clue as to where or who they were.

It's good that this jerk was caught, but obviously the government didn't give a rat's backside about his illegal status or his rotten driving record until he hurt a cop. If he had run down an ordinary peasant, you could rest assured that little if any effort would have been spent in locating him.

The victim stepped in front of the car, and the defendant swerved to the left.

The victim stepped in the path of the Honda again, and the defendant did not swerve, striking the victim. Witness number 4 believed the defendant still had time to avoid striking the victim, but instead continued to drive in the direction of the victim. Witness number 4 stated the defendant continued to drive after striking the victim, but the engine stalled. Witness number 4 stated the defendant attempted to restart the engine but was unable to do so. Witness number 4 stated it appeared the defendant intentionally struck the victim. Witness number 4 positively identified the defendant .as the driver of the Honda by viewing a photo line-up.

Witness, number 5, who also gave a sworn, recorded statement, was riding in the rear driver's side seat of the
