By the way, Mt. Baekdu is militarily a pretty sensitive area for N. Korea. Kim Jong-il's wartime command bunker is there. It was built there so that N. Kroea's enemy(from south) cannot bomb it at will out of fear that some bombs or shells could stray into Chinese territory. However, it could make the place really vulnerable to Chinese attack, even if it is well-fortified. It is just over "the hill" from China.
