Americans awoke Sunday to images of angry Muslims storming the United Nations compound in Beirut in response to a devastating Israeli attack against the Lebanese village of Qana.
The carnage was horrible; at least sixty people died in the attack, forty of them children.
Global response was immediate, emphatic, and predictable. Demands for an 'immediate, unconditional ceasefire' reverberated from the hallowed halls of European government to the United Nations and beyond.
Condi Rice cancelled her scheduled visit to meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Senioria in Lebanon by 'mutual agreement' -- a diplomatic way of saving face for the US.
But on further examination, the carnage reveals a cold, calculating and ruthless strategy on behalf of Hezbollah. There was not a single male of fighting age among the victims. Where were all the males?
And, suppose that Israel had not dropped warning leaflets all over Qana. Let's just suppose that nobody evacuated the city.
What are the odds in such a situation that EIGHTY PERCENT of the casualties would be children? Or that the remaining twenty percent would be exclusively women and old men?
Adding things up, does anybody else get the same sum that I do? I almost hope I am wrong, but it doesn't seem likely.
What seems likely is that the women and children were herded into those shelters in an effort to sway public opinion over to their side.
In other words, they were deliberately put into harm's way. The horrifying casualties were part of a deliberate Hezbollah plan.
It is hard to imagine Hezbollah fighters putting their parents and children in Israel's gunsights in order to gain a propaganda victory, which is one reason why it is working out so well for them.
Israel has video of the very buildings in Qana struck by the missiles. It plainly shows rockets being launched from those buildings.
Hezbollah has launched thousands of rockets into Israel. It knows from experience that Israel is capable of detecting every launch, and it also knows that every launch predicates an Israeli counterstrike.
Hezbollah knew that launching those rockets from Qana would result in Israeli destruction of the buildings from which they were launched.
How could they not? I am six thousand miles away, and I knew it. Didn't you? Every single rocket launch so far has resulted in an Israeli counterstrike. There is no reason why Qana should be any different. And that is without even considering the Israeli warning leaflets that were dropped prior to the attack warning civilians to flee.
But instead, the Qana casualties were all in the basement of the very building Hezbollah used as a launch point.
It is the only explanation that makes any logical sense. They put their own children there in the express hope that Israel would then kill them. In Allah's name.
It is unthinkable. And it is working. Just read the headlines.

Where were all these whiners and hand-wringers when Israeli Jews were being slaughtered by terrorists?? The double-standard and hypocrisy with everyone from the liberal MSM, Washington, and the criminals of the U.N. --- maybe they all should attack terrorism, Hamas, Hezzies, Syrian, Iran, et al, instead of Israel for a change....wishful thinking of course. It is much easier to pick on the little guy who is fighting for his life than to pick on 80% of the members of the U.N.

The consequences of stopping this fight before Hezbollah is crushed are enormous. Let me predict easily that within five minutes of a "cease fire" Hizbollah will be crowing it's "Victory". The tactic of hiding behind hostages cannot be allowed to succeed. We (the West) must let these fascist pigs and their hostages know that the hostages will be sacrificed to their crime. Maybe then the hostages will quit allowing themselves to be taken, but certainly we will not suffer loss through this tactic. Hizbollah must be crushed.

But I don't think hey pick on Israel because they are the little guy. I think they do it out of schoolyard Jew hatred and as a proxy to wage political war against the US.
In the end, for thinking people, this incident may bring some to the realization that Hezbollah is, in fact, as bad as many conservatives have been saying they are. It may also tilt the tables against them from a negotiation standpoint (as in: Don't negotiate with Islamic Cowards who hide behind children, now that we have proof that that is exactly what they do).

So this "international" force will come to southern Lebanon and do what, disarm Hesbollah?
Ha, they will all blend into the cilivilian populationa and keep their weapons and rockets hidden somewhere in ditches.
Then at any given moment they will come out and launch rockets into Israel and then hide amongst the civilian population AND THE MULTI-NATIONAL FORCE, preventing Israel from retaliating.
Then you hear Rice talking about a cease fire. Also heard the under sec-of-state today on Fox News. Then to believe that the dems would select worse. We better pray hard for our & our childrens survival with these idiots running the country.
For all the baloney being thrown around by US and international media I think Israel is knocking the snot out of Hezbollah and they're at a point now where they are pulling every trick in the book to get world opinion to come to their rescue before Israel kicks them all the way back to Iran !!!

That is true, and they also do it for the money they receive for doing it, to fund their weaponry, etc. As Arafat did for so long. It is a highly organized effort using these proxies of death to accomplish these ends. It is important that Israel demonstrate that there is a very large price to be paid for attacking it and rightfully so, since we are dealing with terrorists that are genocidal maniacs, not rational humans.
