Beware when Fox News wishes you well (Olbermann to sleep with the fishes?)
AP (via MSNBC) ^ | 7/21/06 | DAVID BAUDER

Posted on 07/21/2006 4:46:56 PM PDT by frankjr

If someone at Fox News Channel wishes you well, watch your back.

...It's something like a kiss from a Mafia don.

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann was the latest to visit the wishing well. When The New York Times recently asked Fox its opinion of Olbermann...Briganti replied: "Because of his personal demons, Keith has imploded everywhere he's worked. From lashing out at co-workers to personally attacking Bill O'Reilly and all things Fox, it's obvious Keith is a train wreck waiting to happen. And like all train wrecks, people might tune in out of morbid curiosity, but they eventually tune out, as evidenced by Keith's recent ratings decline. In the meantime, we hope he enjoys his paranoid view from the bottom of the ratings ladder and wish him well on his inevitable trip to oblivion."

Here are some others:

- Ted Turner. ...Briganti: "Ted is understandably bitter having lost his ratings, his network and now his mind. We wish him well.

- Tim Russert. ..Fox's Paul Schur: "Tim's sour grapes are obvious here, but at least he's not using his father as a prop to sell books this time around. That said, we wish him well on his latest self-promotion tour."

- George Clooney....Schur said. "But it's obvious he needs publicity considering his recent string of failures. We wish him well in his struggle to regain relevancy."

- MSNBC's David Shuster. ...Briganti came back with: "We can understand David's disappointment in being let go by Fox News Channel, but he's too young to be so bitter. We wish him well in getting his career back on track."

- Jonathan Klein (CNN President). ... "We wish CNN well in their annual executive shuffle." She later stuck the knife in further with: "We wish Jon well in his battle for second place with MSNBC."

Those are some seriously good quotes.

And they're trying to make something sinister out of that? Maybe we need to start quoting THEM some?

What's an Olbermann?

It's pronounced "over-man"... As in "has-been"

I guess it's kind of like a firm where I used to work - everyone knew you were on your way out when you were assigned to "Special Projects."

"What's an Olbermann?"

It is a corrosive. It is so strong that it will dissolve anything. The main problem is, there is nothing to keep it in.

Anybody who knows baseball and hates Bill O'Reilly can't be all bad.

But Olberman is close. He's awful on ESPN radio too.

He used to be the sports anchor on a local L.A. station years ago. He was actually fairly entertaining. He got publicly nutty after he went national.

The DUmmies at DUh are going to be crushed. They LOVE him, they are hot for his bod, they love the way he dresses and they love his glasses. They get all atwitter talking about him but apparently they have NOT noticed his short comings. (no pun intended)

He and Dan Patrick made a hoot of a sportscasting team on ESPN's Sportscenter before Keith went 'round the bend. There has seldom been a more entertaining pair than Keith and Dan at their peak.

Excellent. From what I have heard from Olbermann, this should little description and well wish should send him right over the edge. He will be doing nothing but ink blot and basket weaving shows in another week.

Dan Patrick is still good. But Olbermann is now so self absorbed that it is a totally wasted hour when he is on. He drags Dan and Phil the show killer down. Patrick must cringe to compare the old days and the new, national Keith.

Okay, can I try?

Many observers wonder what Hillary Rodham actually wrote in her senior thesis at Wellesley, and we wish her well trying to keep it covered up.

This is fun.
