WASHINGTON — The House, displaying a foreign affairs solidarity lacking on issues like Iraq, voted overwhelmingly Thursday to support Israel in its confrontation with Hezbollah guerrillas.

The resolution, which was passed on a 410-8 vote, also condemns enemies of the Jewish state.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was the only Republican to vote against the resolution. Democrats who voted against the measure of support were Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, John Conyers, Carolyn Kilpatrick and John Dingell, all from Michigan, Jim McDermott of Washington, Nick Rahall of West Virginia and Pete Stark of California.

House Republican leader John Boehner cited Israel's "unique relationship" with the United States as a reason for his colleagues to swiftly go on record supporting Israel in the latest flare-up of violence in the Mideast.

Anybody wonder why Michigan is a dying State? A liberal Democrat as Governor, politicians in Congress like Levin and StabaCow, Conyers, Kilpatrick, and others are stuck in the sixties.

If only peace, love, and rock and roll, were enough to guarantee world peace.

By the way, it's long past time some "news" organization looked into the Democrats anti-semitism. Conyers, McKinney, and much of the black caucus hate Jews.

Yesterday, somebody posted the names of people who have given to the McKinney reelection campaign, a huge number had middle-eastern names. Just sayin'

How someone can't support Israel wiping out this scum is beyond me. I'm glad someone else is also killing this Jihad scum.

John Conyers, Carolyn Kilpatrick and John Dingell, all from Michigan, Jim McDermott of Washington,

Doesnt Michigan have a large contingent of Islamics? That could explain those three , and we all know about Washington State and Abu Mcdermott.

Anyay just remember that after 911 they all voted to back President Bush. Give them a month and lets see what happens, My bet is that they will back out soon enough when it turns to slogging it out.

The three Congress people from Michigan voted the way they did because all their districts touch a part of the largest Arabic population in the country. Besides that they are part of the biggest bananas in the country.

Bernie "Socialist" Sanders actually voted yea on this!? Might it be interesting that on one of the core issues of Conservatism, a Libertarian switches places with a Socialist. I think that Ron Paul is a Buchananite styled Libertarian(remember his voting nay on that bill that condemns Cuba).

Yeah, he said the resolution gave him a "sick feeling" in his stomach.

He's in the legislature of the wrong country, IMO.

The "present" votes and non-votes = too cowardly to come out and show it?

Note these cowards. They wanted to vote no but chickened out.

Let's be kind to Ann Northup. Her son died last week, and I doubt she's back from dealing with that yet.

Too many Christian Arabs are cino's - Christians in name only. They'll sell Israel up the river if the price is right.
