Travellers to an exotic island in the Indian Ocean have been issued with warnings against a rare tropical disease. Seventy seven people have already died in Mauritius from the rare chikungunya virus which is carried by mosquitoes.
Mauritius, an island paradise particularly popular with honeymooning couple has about 700,000 visitors annually, generating more than £400 million.
Following the outbreak the number of French tourists who normally account for about a quarter of the total, plummeted.

I had some bad chikin at Church's once........
Mauritius is a banking haven for drug dealers, and a hiding place for international gangsters. No wonder the French love it there : )
My advise is liberal use of DDT.
The chikun-gun-ya virus? Sounds like those Chick-fil-A cows have some gun toting competition.
NAh, DDT doesn't taste good on chikun........

Ok so we know what the death certificates say...now, what did they really die of?
Who's got the chikungunya ping list?
Rare tropical disease or tsunami?
I think I'll just stay inside today..
Another blood bath, brought to you by stupid liberals.
DDT would fix this nonsense.
Me, too. And even though snopes said it's a rumor, I still believe they changed to name to just KFC because the were raising beekless, featherless, legless things to fry up...ewww...
People Eat Tasty Animals
So if you're upright......you have less of a chance of contracting it??? LOL! /sarcasm
I love animals---they're delicious!!
There's a local chain here (LA,MS,AL,FL panhandle) called Danny's Fried Chicken. It puts all of 'em (KFC, Church's, Popeye's) to shame...........
Laka-Nookie?
***My advise is liberal use of DDT.***
Beat me to it!
We don't have Danny's [I don't think we do] but we have Chicken Express, which has a logo that looks like a rubber chicken shot from a cannon. I don't eat very much fried food, so I've not tried it...
However, we have a great BBQ place called Rudy's and this is on the back of their T-shirts: "I didn't claw my way up the phone chain to eat vegetables!"
The CDC fact sheet says "The term chikungunya is Swahili for that which bends up."
I guess if it bends left, it would be the Bill Clinton or Impotus Virus.
