Sarkozy will be fired tomorrow for daring to suggest Israel has a right to defend itself.

Holy cow.
I once had a dream that something such as this would happen.

Most of those calling for Israel to exercise "restraint" really mean that they want Israel to stop short of actually destroying the future ability of Hizbollah and Hamas and terrorist-sponsoring Islamo-facsist government to exterminate Israel. Can't have Israel doing anything to guarantee that Iran won't nuke'em in the near future!

I can't believe Sarkozy is being reasonable concerning Israel. Certainly there is no place for him in French politics!

Ah yes, Sarkozy. Forgot about that guy. I'll wait to see if his opinion is seconded over there.
(and I keep hoping, the guy who slaps the cuffs on Chirac).
And I kept hoping President Bush would do the same to The Slickster. ....but no go.

Spitty Chrissy is up for a special Hardball tonight, I expect that will change. I don't think Chrissy has any empathy for the Isreali position (although I'm just guessing here).

"There were a couple of anchors on FOX news today who were "bitch slapping" any interviewee who dared infer that Israel was at fault for this situation.
It was refreshing."
Sure was. Julie Banderas was great - not taking any anti-Israeli spin from any of the guests or "commentators".

I could be wrong, but I haven't seen any Arabs condemn Hamas, just Hezbollah (Lebanon).

AAAHHHH! The Floyd Landis effect. They are tired of being bitch-slapped by the right side of history.

Just what is "restraint" anyway?Take them all of Hezbolla and Hamas and the PLO, the ruling class in Syria, and the islamo fascists in Iran, and kill them. Let the surviving people rebuild their cities in peace. That should suffice as "restraint". No need to execute women and children and old folks. Just the rest.

Wait a minute. ...is this one of those "alternate universe" threads?

Restraint is the name of a new bomb, a little smaller than the MOAB.

My prediction is that Israel is gonna win this one...both militarily and politically.
I don't know if I'd put too much faith in the remarks of one French commentator on this. Anti-Semitism runs too deep in Europe and elsewhere to think that Israel will ever have the objective support it would have in a rational world.
