(IsraelNN.com) France joined voices with the United States on Sunday in asserting that Israel has the right of self-defense in the face of ceaseless terror and rocket attacks.
“Israel must defend itself,” said French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, “and it had the right to do so.” He added, however, that Israel should exercise restraint in dealing with the threat.
“There is an aggressive element in the Middle East,” he said, and that is Hizbullah. As friends of Israel we must advise it to maintain level-headedness and restraint.”
Unfortunately this is about the best we can expect the French to say.....

Just what is "restraint" anyway? I would like someone to define restraint within the context of the situation. At what point does retaliation become too much?
If anything, Israel has been too careful considering the fact that her neighbors want to hear nothing of peaceful coexistence. The only time Israel's neighbors seriously consider peace is when they need to reload.
Naw, France has been a secret ally of Israel for quite awhile. The chips are being called in.
It was refreshing.
Its Sarkozy. French conservative. Hopefully, Chirac's replacement (and I keep hoping, the guy who slaps the cuffs on Chirac).
The French have had a taste of terrorism.
: And now what do we have? Hamas-led govt making stupid moves that even many in the Arab world are condemning. No surprise that even France cannot support the Palestinians on this one.
My prediction is that Israel is gonna win this one...both militarily and politically.

The recent rioting must have knocked some sense into the French.
Sarkozy seems to be the only one in the French Gov't who has his head on straight. Hopefully, he will run and be elected President next election.

Believe it or not, I've noticed that very thing on MSNBC and CNN, too.
