A Song, a Psalm of Asaph.

O G-d, keep not Thou silence; hold not Thy peace, and be not still, O G-d.

For, lo, Thine enemies are in an uproar; and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head.

They hold crafty converse against Thy people, and take counsel against Thy treasured ones.

They have said: 'Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.'

For they have consulted together with one consent; against Thee do they make a covenant;

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Assyria also is joined with them; they have been an arm to the children of Lot. Selah

Do Thou unto them as unto Midian; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook Kishon;

Who were destroyed at En-dor; they became as dung for the earth.

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and like Zebah and Zalmunna all their princes;

Who said: 'Let us take to ourselves in possession the habitations of G-d.'

O my G-d, make them like the whirling dust; as stubble before the wind.

As the fire that burneth the forest, and as the flame that setteth the mountains ablaze;

So pursue them with Thy tempest, and affright them with Thy storm.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek Thy name, O HaShem.

Let them be ashamed and affrighted for ever; yea, let them be abashed and perish;

That they may know that it is Thou alone whose name is HaShem, the Most High over all the earth.

Since JimRob writes that "Free Republic is pro-God" I hope this thread will stand for all Freepers to post prayers, hopes and well-wishes for the people of Israel and her residents and visitors, and other commentary related to the conflict.

I find it fascinating that 3000 years after Asaph penned this Psalm Israel still faces the same enemies and find Psalm 83 particularly appropriate right now.

God promised he would protect Israel, and he will.

That just about covers it and says it all.

1 Kings 18:36-40

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again."

Thank you for this priceless reminder that the Lord is on the throne
and that the wicked never rest as long as Israel continues
to be His chosen.

Lifting Up Israel

Heavenly Father,

I come to you and crawl towards your throne…I am a sinner and have so much shame for my deeds…. forgive me Father…for I have sinned against thee.

I come before you, not under my own worthlessness, but by and through Jesus, your Glorious Son. I claim His promises that I can come before you in His Name.

Father, today I come to you with a burden for Israel, Your Chosen.

I lift up Israel…and ask that your Warring Angels protect them against all enemies.

I ask You in Jesus' Name to bind and confuse those enemies of Your Light and Israel

Father, I know that the enemy of Jesus, Lucifer has an army that is both human and demonic and I ask you Father to use whatever You deem necessary to defeat this dark evil enemy….I ask You Father to use your Holy Spirit and Your Angels in this war……and I know that you are and that you know I know that Jesus wins and has won this war.

I ask for your guiding hand to use even the evil present to fulfill Your Promises.

I thank you Father for answered prayer and trust that you are in control and that soon Your Son will return….thank you Father for answered pray and to you be all Honor and Glory.
