Americans are donating thousands of dollars to support Minutemen patrolling the border. But you may be surprised where your money is NOT going in this 4-month investigation.
TBLSHOWOFF ?
Correct.
ICK!
Always seems to find another forum as he goes through life getting banned.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!
You know I was wandering around the web today and just happened to see Mr keyes site . He has a declaration of principles that struck me. Part of it was
"Free speech and a free press are both required for the practice of responsible liberty, as necessary means by which the people can act together to govern themselves according to the laws of nature and of nature's God"
I dont know why that struck me as revelant today. I will say these I am glad that the Keyes fols believe that Free speech and free press is a good thing. That no Govt or individual can or should impede that.
Just something to ponder
.
I know at least one who didn't get the memo. ;-)
Whether we are talking about the NAACP, Alan Keyes, or Simcox...it's all the same.
Here's a quote from Booker T. Washington that summarizes these leeches:
"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public.""Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs." Booker T. Washington
Forgot to ping you to the post above.
Bull's eye accurate.
Thanks for the ping.
They latch on to what is acknowledgedly a problem, set up what they call a "solution", make the claim that their solution is in fact the only solution to the problem, accuse anyone who is not working at setting their "solution" in place of doing nothing about the problem, then set themselves up as saviors...with a bank account that accepts donations for the "cause".
Sound familiar?
According to this particular set of Problem Profiteers, the ONLY solution to the problem of people entering the US illegally from Mexico, is to set up a fence. Mind you, they have no proof that this will work, and in fact, the largest of all fences set up to protect a country from invaders, The Great Wall of China (so big that it can be seen from space), failed to stop the Mongols. Yet, they claim that this is the only solution, and since the Bush administration is taking no steps toward building said fence, they are doing nothing to solve this problem.
Doing nothing is defined by them as not doing what they want done.
In fact, the administration's proposal of an effective guest worker program IS by far the best solution out there for controlling our borders. It's a historical fact that a guest worker program helps decrease illegal entry into the country.
But the Problem Profiteers ignore historical fact, engage in one of the most basic of all logical fallacies, argumentum in terrorem, and make the claim that if the wall is not built, the country will be lost.
Not true at all.
Good summary! I'd change it just a little bit. Our boy here has accused everyone not working at setting their "solution" in place of, not doing nothing, but actually working to exascerbate the problem and being in favor of it continuing. :-)
Good to see you, Luis!
My summary of what was said by Simcox:
Because it's so hot, they're putting off some of the work on the fences until fall when it's cooler....[I note the website timeline doesn't reflect that, or didn't yesterday anyhow.]
They are doing a lot of work behind the scenes, that the man "with the little model airplane can't see as he flies along the border."
Repairing fences around San Diego.
Accuses the ABC 15 piece of being yellow journalism, taking soundbites and comments out of context. Took soundbites of a 90 minute interview and distilled to 15 minutes, put answers with different questions. Portapotties are at the command center, not out in the desert.
Funding is going to national command center, thermal imaging equipment, computers, travel expenses for national leadership team, fuel for volunteers, etc.
Reporter says Simcox should have recorded entire interview so that he could prove what was said. Simcox says that now he's doing that, but some reporters won't interview him under those conditions.
They've hired lawyers, accountants, caging company, to assure financial accountability. Simcox doesn't touch finances because IRS would love to find them doing something wrong. Protected themselves with professionals who would be foolish to work with unethical organizations.
ABC clearly was trying to do a hitpiece. One couple interviewed is mad because they were terminated because they clearly had a racist agenda. Now they're on a vendetta.
3rd party devoted to border control? would like to awaken sleeping majority. People are concerned that can't reform either party. Have to build organizations in each state to grow a 3rd party so MMCDC is building that infrastructure. 2008 would be too soon, but have created a MM PAC, seeking alternative candidates to challenge the status quo.
This reporter was clearly sympathetic to Simcox, so no hitpiece here.
On the one hand, Simcox sounded very sincere & professional & convincing.
On the other hand, I still have a definite problem with the discrepancies between what they are promising on the website in terms of fencing and timelines and what he described here.
According to the website, they should have 10 miles of fencing and vehicle barriers done by now, and be working on the Israeli style fence in another location. According to this interview, they have a little over 2 miles done, and while there's a good bit more in the planning stages, most isn't going to be done til fall because right now it's just too gosh-darn hot out there.
[Amelia rolls her eyes at someone who apparently just realized it would be hot as Hades on the border in July and August...]
Yeah, the reporter was clearly on Simcox's side and wanted things to look good for him.
But, even if they aren't building the fence right now, they are able to buy computers & pay travel expenses for the national leadership. That's important, you know. ;-)
Claiming that the ABC report was doctored.
