I choose to "govern women's bodies" as you put it.That sounds positivily talibanish, Jaysun. Where does the black paint for our windows and the burka lines form?

She got pregnant THREE times and just because the didn't want the baby, she had THREE abortions. How stupid is that? I just shake me head.Family planning by abortion...Lord help us.

Can't smoke a cig, but hell, we can kill babies by the millions. Unbelievable isn't it...

Yes, it is unbelievable.
These people consider smokers child-abusers, but a good many seem to think abortion is OK. They like to say "it's a woman's right to do what they want with their body".
Anything seems to go, except taking a puff off a Marlboro, then, by God, you've crossed the line.
Who's the REAL child-abuser? A smoker, or abortionist?
We may as well throw common sense right out the window.
I suppose it's more politically correct to just kill your baby, rather than smoke a cig near it.
The anti's sometimes say just that.
All hail PC nannies!

Of course I would !
I would also drink coffee and have an occasional drink.
Next question?

As someone who has chosen to ignore all the studies and warnings for years I got a big kick out of your post.
I think it was a few months ago that a "study" came out saying low fat diets are not that great. That threw me off of my chair I was laughing so hard.
Remember when butter was bad? Remember when eggs were bad?

Wouldn't you think the Arkansas politicians would be more interested in quality education than this type of stuff?
Last I heard Arkansas was 49 out of 50 in state rankings.

"This is getting totally out of hand. If this bill passes, then the government can dictate to a pregnant woman what she can eat and drink and what activities she can engage in. TOTALLY over the top!"
Agreed. But..the infant in utero will be given legal standing. The mother's behavior is regulated because...the infant has rights to a healthy outcome in birth and survival.
If they start monkeying around mom's behavior because the unknown blob could be damaged, they have to give the unknown blob standing and recognize that he or she is actually a separate individual from mother and has a right to life.
As I said, this could well be one of those unintended consequences. Even taking this to court and arguing could be one of those moments.

"Liberal Lines?" Boy, that's a laugh if I ever heard one. Me a liberal. hahaha! Too funny. You don't know me too well, do you?!
And just WHERE did I say I was for abortion and murdering an unborn baby? WHERE! I DEMAND to know where you got this forking idea bub!
The tripe about men ruling women's bodies is indeed a liberal line. And you didn't have to say you were for abortion and murdering an unborn baby. I said that women could do whatever they want with their bodies (excluding killing others) and you went bonkers. What were you talking about? Mosquitoes?
No! YOU'RE the ridiculous one here! Why don't you try reading? Or is that too hard for you. Maybe I should have posted this in Braille!
Don't get so emotional. It makes you look silly.

WTF is wrong with these people? When the hell are people going to wake up and see these people for what they are, which is nothing but totalitarians? If they want to help "the children" so much, they should do something about abortion. Unbelievable!Nothing makes sense where the anti's are concerned. They are so obsessed with smoking and smokers that they can't think of anything else!

One question - and please leave out all the red letters and exclamation points - it's just a yes or no answer. Would you smoke if you were pregnant?
Gee, I'm SO sorry my "red letters" and exclamation points offend you! But I am not IN here for YOU my dear. You will just have to put up with it. Do you come down on other FReepers that do that same as well? heh!
And YES! I smoked when I was pregnant. I also had a social drink or two. I also took aspirin! Gave birth to an 8 pound 12 ounce 12 and a half inch long HEALTHY baby girl who was and has never been sick.
Does that answer your question?

Exactly! There is no reason on earth today for a woman to get pregnant unless it's rape. What will all the birth control out there, women need to smarten up! I knew one gal who didn't use birth control yet was in a relationship.
She got pregnant THREE times and just because the didn't want the baby, she had THREE abortions. How stupid is that? I just shake me head.
We agree on abortion so there's no need for us to argue. We're on the same team. I shouldn't have called you "honey" and been such an ass. I'm sorry.

I smoked with all my pregnancy's. I remember when we could smoke in the hospital in our room after we had them. And I got me a little passel of grandkids. So did "I!" There were 4 mothers to a room, and three out of 4 in my room smoked. We didn't smoked when the baby's were wheeled into our room to be fed though. We didn't have TIME. LOL
