Though much has been done to clean up our waters, much work remains. Sewer overflows and runoff from farms and city streets threaten the life-sustaining properties of our waters, endanger human health and wildlife, and result in thousands of beach closings each year. NRDC works to continue reductions in industrial water pollution while pressing for effective pollution controls on agriculture, logging and other sources previously exempt from them. We help develop and promote strong federal laws and regulations to address polluted runoff, raw sewage discharges, and factory farm wastes and we sue polluters when they violate the Clean Water Act.

My Sister lives in Florida. I want to drill oil in the Gulf. Especially near Cuba (before the Chinese and the Cubans get to it). She argues that the Oil Comapanies will ruin her beaches. This web page says that all the people who flock to live near our beaches are wrecking them with their runoff and human waste. I sent this to my Sister and told he that if she wants to save the beaches, she should move away or stop having bawl movements. I then said, 'let me compromise. Since you mess our beaches up with your human waste, plese allow us to drill our own oil.'

A little crude on the beach is good for the complexion.

A little crude on the beach is good for the complexion.
But not as good as human waste though.

The NRDC has done more to undermine the economy of this nation than any entity short of the IRS.
What tickles me is they sue companies building nuclear plants at every brick and weld they construct, and then complain that nuclear plants are too expensive. If no lawyers were involved, construction would stay a lot closer to being on time and at estimated cost.

I didn't know that about the NRDC. I can imagine though. I just like the fact that the pinko, peaceniks, like my sister, think it is industry who pollutes when they all flock to the beach and they are the ones who do the worst damage to the beach. But that don't stop them from biotchin' about it. I want to drill my own oil. We have a mess of it off the coast of the keys. The Chinese are working with the Cubans so they can get to it before we do. But the pinkos keep us from drillin'. Well I would like to keep them from having a damn bawl movement!

I didn't know that about the NRDC. For a snapshot on NRDC, see this post (#67).
Scroll down to the paragraph (just before the table) that begins "NRDC is a LOT bigger player in this mess..." View the tables and the paragraphs following them. The tables lay out exactly who is running and funding NRDC.
