snip... But in todays Democratic Party its the mainstream that gets marginalized. Forty years ago, George Aiken recommended that in Vietnam America declare victory and go home. Today, the likes of Jack Murtha, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy have come up with their own ingenious improvement: declare defeat and go home. Having voted for the war before he voted against it, Senator Kerry has now effortlessly re-twisted his pretzel of a spine: Last week, he voted to lose Iraq even though were winning it. Even if theres no civil war, even if the insurgencys leader is dead and his network in ruins, even if the Iraqis are making huge progress in self-government, even if by any historical standard everythings going swell, the Defeaticrats refuse to budge: America needs to throw in the towel and hightail it out of there by the end of the year, which is the date Kerry is demanding we surrender by.
snip...
In the early 1970s, when John Kerry was insisting wed get out of Vietnam at very little cost, he at least could plead ignorance: He didnt know what would come after. In 2006, we all know what followed boat people, Cambodias killing fields, globalized dominoes falling from Grenada to Iran. When Murtha, Kerry and Co. effectively demand that America agree to re-traumatize itself in the humiliation of an even bigger geopolitical capitulation, one assumes theyre failing to consider where the dominoes would fall this time round in Afghanistan, in Jordan, in Turkey and beyond. It would end the American moment: Why would Russia, China or even Belgium take American power seriously ever again?

Why are you (anybody) even assuming that today's democrats want America to win?
They genuinely HATE and FEAR the Christian capitalistic society that America classically represents.

Ending the American movement is exactly what Kerry, Murtha, et al are after.

If Kerry and Murtha were coyotes snared in a trap, they would chew off the wrong paw in order to escape.

Why are you (anybody) even assuming that today's democrats want America to win? This is clear to anyone willing to give it just 2 minutes of honest thought.
This party's brand of 'patriotism' is the most eccentric form of solidarity ever seen in this country's history. It's fained and insincere. It's not fooling anyone who takes the preservation of this country seriously, even over his own life.

Murtha has become the traitorous mouthpiece for the Democratic party. Pelosi, Reid and Kerry add their two bits worth from time to time but I guess they feel it's not too difficult to control him being he seems to be suffering the onset of dementia. And then too, if the plan fails he is an acceptable sacrifice.

That's about the size of it.
We are winning, but the gouing is a bit rought, so let's turn tail and run -- let the world and the terrorists see that all they have to do is kill a few thousand Americans, and the "big, strong USA" will run away, giving terrorists the victory and the means to keep killing us right here in our homeland.

Those naked bicyclists are emblematic. The flesh is willing but the spirit is weak, too weak to articulate what ideas animate the party other than disrobed defeatistism. Naked bicyclists - almost too perfect.
Defeaticrats being "in your face," juvenile, and yet, ever so superficial -- acting as if they held a position worthy of their pretensions.
I'm embarrassed for them...
