My local paper ran an editorial today saying they had dropped Ann Coulter's column in response to one line in her new book, "Godless". They printed the (in)famous line about the Jersey Girls enjoying their husband's deaths, and said it was too much. They did not mention that this line had not appeared in her syndicated column, and therefore, not in thier little paper. They have replaced Ann with Michelle Malkin, although they continue to run Molly Ivens. I called and cancelled my subscription immediately, and called the editor's office to complain to him personally. I got a recordrd message saying he was "out of the office" (at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon), so I left him a message calling him a coward who lacks the guts to even answer the phone.
Please tell us the name of the paper, the name of the Editor, the name of the publisher, and the city in which it is located. Is is a chain-owned paper, like Gannet, McClatchy, etc.? Please give more information.
Consider yourself lucky that they even decided to replace her with a conservative. We get Leonard Pitts all week long.
Are you sure they were really serious about why they dropped Ann?
Get some old newspapers, and call all the advertisers in them, and tell they why you are dropping the paper. Tell the Advertising Manager (Retail and Classified) what you are doing.
Big Media Liberal Pundits aren't upset at all about the title of her book "Godless: The Church of The Liberalism"!
People still read hard copy news?
I took that paper (Salina Journal, Salina, KS) for the comics, the TV schedule, and Ann. The "news" was always a couple of days old to anybody with a computer (or a television, or a radio). I can always get a TV schedule somewhere else, but I'm gonna miss "Dilbert".
You were wasting your money anyway. Here's everything you want, for free!

We get our local paper for the classifieds and the circulars. i have no idea what syndicated columnists they publish and I don't really care. I don't read the "news" or "opinion" sections of the paper.
And here's tv listings.

Oh yeah, we also get the paper to line our guinea pig and rabbit cages with. It's good for that.

Doesn't Ann get published online?
I'm shocked a paper in Salina would do this since St. John's is there. Too bad. Good for you for cancelling your subscription.

I think it's okay for you to dispute Michelle Malkin for her position on detainment camps, but I am very disappointed a Freeper would use a tactic that we hate when the media or people on the left use.
I think it's despicable that you would A) imply that Michelle Malkin is a holocaust supporter and B) imply the United States' practices during World War II were as evil as Nazi Germany. And that is what you did.
Most of the "enemy aliens" lived in Hawaii and were not sent to camps.
Got anymore meaningful arguments?
Good post.
You should not encourage him in his fantasies.
