WAUKESHA, Wis. - A woman who entered a couple's Waukesha home hit the owner with a metal pooper scooper and armed herself with two scissors before eventually being subdued by five officers and hauled away in a bag, authorities and the homeowner say.
"I tried to reason with her," said John Dormer, whose wife, Linda, discovered 47-year-old Leisa Reed in her kitchen about 4:40 a.m. Sunday after going to check why their dog was barking.
The Dormers said they left a door unlocked for their son because he was at an all-night graduation event at Waukesha South High School, and that's the door Reed entered.
According to authorities, when Linda Dormer went to the kitchen, Reed was swinging the pooper scooper and saying, "They drugged me. They are going to kill me. I'm going to kill you."

It took five police officers, three hits with a Taser gun, leg straps and a spit bag to subdue a 5-foot tall, 105-pound woman who entered a Waukesha home and attacked a couple she didn't know with a metal pooper scooper and scissors, authorities said.
Still kicking after being strapped and handcuffed, the woman was carried by police out of the home in a bag, and she looked "like a sack of potatoes," the homeowner said.
Leisa K. Reed, 47, who told authorities she smoked crack cocaine before the incident, was charged Monday with two felonies, armed burglary and second-degree recklessly endangering safety; and three misdemeanors, according to a criminal complaint.
Waukesha residents John and Linda Dormer said they do not know Reed and kept telling her she was in the wrong house, John Dormer said Monday. Reed kept saying that someone was going to kill her and threatened to kill the Dormers, he said
"I tried to reason with her," he said.
She then hit him with the pooper scooper and armed herself with two scissors, he said. He said he feared for his life and the lives of his family. Two of the couple's children, 12 and 13, also witnessed the attack.
The Dormers are OK but still shaken up, he said. They credit their dog, rescued from a shelter in Oshkosh, with alerting them to the intruder and saving their lives.
Reed told authorities she doesn't remember being in the Dormer's home. She told police that a friend picked her up at her apartment in Milwaukee on Saturday evening and took her to her friend's apartment in Waukesha. Reed's husband, Matt, was also there, the criminal complaint says. Reed said she drank a 12-ounce can of beer and purchased $40 in crack cocaine, which she smoked at her friend's apartment in Waukesha, the complaint says.
The Dormers said they usually lock their doors, but on Saturday night, their son, who graduated that day from Waukesha South High School, was at an all-night graduation event at the school, so they left a door unlocked for him.
That's the door Reed entered, armed with a metal pooper scooper that Dormer recognized as belonging to a neighbor, Dormer said.
Dormer, Waukesha police and the criminal complaint give the following account:
Linda Dormer woke up at 4:40 a.m. Sunday because the family's Shih Tzu, Gucci, was barking in the kitchen. When she walked into the kitchen, she saw a stranger wildly swinging the pooper scooper and babbling, "They drugged me. They are going to kill me. I'm going to kill you." Reed then kicked Gucci in the shoulder.
Linda Dormer screamed, and her husband, now awake, ran into the kitchen.
Reed hit John Dormer on the side of his face with the pooper scooper before grabbing two scissors from the kitchen, the complaint says.
With a scissors in each hand, she fought the 6-foot, 210-pound man. Dormer said that he couldn't believe Reed's strength.
When the first officer arrived, Reed was foaming at the mouth and struggling with the homeowner, the complaint says. She continued to fight the officer who used a Taser gun, but it appeared to have no effect on her. More and more officers were called to assist, and she was stunned with the Taser two more times.
Using their combined weight, five officers were finally able to subdue the woman enough to take her to Waukesha Memorial Hospital to check her for injuries.
Bail was ordered at $4,999, and she remains in the Waukesha County Jail. She could face 33 years in prison if convicted.
Dormer said Monday that his family always felt safe in Waukesha.
"She ruined a lot good things," he said.
If she did that at my house, they would have taken her to the morgue.
"It's just another crappy day in the annals of law enforcement."
You mean, I'm sure, just another crappy day in the anals of law enforecement.
I'm partial to my .44 Magnum Marlin, but yours works well also!
mine was modified to get around the Assault Pooper Scooper Ban.
(I took the bayonet lug off and limited the capacity to 10 turds)
