Nothing should be considered out of the realm of possibility with respect to a terrorist attack.
The moment you decide it's not something to worry about or consider you have given them a decided advantage.
Think about this...Ossama gets his boys busy...gathering every social security number in America...with names, addresses, and birthdate and stands up a server in Iran. He could destroy economic stability in less than 24 hours in the US.
It is a stated goal (as interviewed) of some Al Qaeda members to "attack us in order to destroy/disrupt our economy beginning in 2010".
Certainly a possibility.
Thanks to the oil speculators all they'd need to do to disrupt our economy further is blow up some oil pipelines around the world.
I would anticipate two types of attacks - something domestic that affects widespread electronics as a byproduct (EMP perhaps), and something overseas perhaps against the Saudi Oilfields.
If they could generate a significant enough EMP to disrupt electronics and communications the confusion in the aftermath of Katrina would pale by comparison to what would result.
