Walter Reed FReep #60: Celebrating a Job Well Done!
06/11/2006 | PleaDeal

Posted on 06/11/2006 5:42:27 PM PDT by PleaDeal

Ding-Dong Zarqawi's Dead!!

The wonderful news that our military eliminated this horrible beast set the tone for the evening. So many months of hard work and persistence finally paid off in a spectacular manner and we were prepared to celebrate the success of Task Force 145 and all of the members of the military who have been successful in their own MOSs.

We were also mindful that this was a day of disappointment and sorrow for CodePink and commie sympathizers everywhere. Their icon was gone - blown up by the military they so despise. It must have been especially painful for them to learn that Zarqawi lived long enough to see free Iraqi police and U.S. troops bending over his wasted remains before he finally shuffled off this mortal coil. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Some signs to mark the momentous occasion.

The pics in this report were taken by Mrs Trooprally and PleaDeal (blue border). You can see all the photos from Mrs. T here, and mine here.

Heavy rain drenched the D.C. area late in the afternoon, but tapered off before 7pm. Our usual crowd of FReepers and friends was bolstered tonight by 12 College Republicans who were in town for their annual caucus. The honor roll of attendance (lurkers marked with *):

Albion Wilde, Barb*, Bill from MD*, BufordP, Cindy-True-Supporter, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, Just A Nobody, Kristinn, Mary*Ann & Jere, PleaDeal, Steve*, tgslTakoma, Tom RedHunter, and Trooprally [Mr. and Mrs.]. College Republicans included Lindy, Billy, Esther, Cindy, Troy, Zach, Paul, Mason, Charlie, George, Amanda and Ashley.

A special condolence card was crafted by tgslTakoma and Kristinn:

Cover of card

Inside message ->

The card was hand-delivered by Kristinn to the mourners waaaaaay down the block.

791
In a kindly display of concern for the commies, Cindy-True-Supporter, Jimmy Valentine's Brother and BufordP line up across Georgia Ave. from the Pinkos so the signs could clearly be read.
Touched by the FReepers sympathy, "Large Marge", Kevin McCarron and a "Veterans for Peace" Pinko cross the street to thank the group.

Kevin is so grateful, he shoves his peacenik sign in tgslTakoma's face and won't let her video what's going on!

BufordP and JVB pitched in by singing a happy tune:

If you're stupid and you know it
Go like this!
If you're stupid and you know it
Go like this!

While flashing the "V" for Victory sign!

Meanwhile, Kristinn was on his way to delivering the personalized condolence card across the street. "Marge" is obviously impressed with the thoughtfulness contained in the message.

802   Coming late to the party, Gael Murphy was nonetheless able to share in the precious moments.

Back up at the gates, we were having a great time waiving flags, cheering, and gleefully mingling with the boisterous and jubilant College Republicans. The young'uns love honking horns and made sure the intersection was a continuous cacophony. HOORAY!

865
Who says FReepers are poorly dressed?
Last week, tgslTakoma had the happy pleasure of meeting a soldier from her hometown. This week it was Just A Nobody and visiting Soldiers' Angel MaryAnn and husband Jere who discovered their shared geographical ties. MaryAnn came down from Ohio to spend her birthday out front of Walter Reed. Now that's patriotism!

These guys couldn't have been happier at the death of their #1 enemy in Iraq.

For some reason, this Iranian Pinko didn't share our joy.

We'll be back out at Walter Reed next Friday night, June 16th, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.

Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future. This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.

As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

All DC Chapter Walter Reed FReeps - c/o BufordP.

Come out this Friday and join us in celebrating our Troops.

I Want to join you all more than I can possibly say! If I could figure out a way to do just that with a 1 yr old, my 5 yr old and my husband, I will do it the weekend before my birthday, which will be the first weekend in August.

Can anyone give me some tips as to where to stay that will not break the bank? The airfare for 4, plus the hotel will be a LOT of money from Portland Oregon.

If I can find a way to swing it with out breaking our budget, I am SO there! It would be the BEST way to EVER possibly spend a birthday!

Thanks ya all!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I passed my written tesat for my motorcycle license yesterday. I get the bike tomorrow...Lord Willing. I have to wait two weeks before I can take the riding test. Once I take the test, I will be riding as long as I have money for gas. That means I will be at more of the rallies.

I got a hunch that Friday's Freepelation really helped send the Troops morale sky high and continued to sink the morale of CodePink lower than the Bismark.

We ALL got that SOB
Some grandmother somewhere in America works in a factory soldering wires to a harness that will connect to a little square box containing a little projection camera for an F-16 Heads Up Display.
A young man or woman a year removed from high school pulled pins from 500lb bombs on a hot desert tarmac.
Another kid in America works in a foundry pouring hot aluminum alloys which will eventually find its way to the compressor stage of the F-100 engine that will power an F-16 from a runway.
Someone in America sang in a church choir on Sunday, and on Monday was holding a rivet gun, helping build another warplane, which will help keep us free.
Some group of brave men in the darkness, shined a little laser beam against a building.
Some geeky American, known for his/her math skills wrote a little program that turns numbers into coordinates.
Some young American decided to become a pilot after watching the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels put on a show.
Some young American decided to join the Army and become a Special Operations Soldier that no one knows because his father and his father's father were in the Army.
Some American you or I will never meet, had an idea, which became GPS.
Some kid who last year was dancing at a Prom pulled the chocks.
Some kid wiped the canopy that a year ago was wiping car windshields in their summer job at the local car wash back home.
Someone working in a rubber factory had no idea that his or her work product was tucking itself into its bay as the pilot brought up the gear 20 ft off the deck.
Some little American girl who years ago was all about MTV and CDs gave a vector, cleared hot.
Some pilots did their job.
AMERICA got that SOB.
Every damn one of us.
All I can say is that before he died, I hope it hurt like hell.

PleaDeal - You are quick. But great thread.

I kind of like these pics also:

Sunset at WR:

It rained off and on so the between the rain and lack of early arriving FReepers, theMOAB2 didn't get put up. So please, if you are coming, arrive before 7 PM. Thanks.

Thank you once again for a great report. I love the signs and especially the condolence card for the Pinkos. LOL. Kudos to the Young Republicans. I'm sure their exuberance lended a lot to the excitement level of the evening. Oh for a way to be there with you guys..... Thank you all.

Is this visible?

No..... Not much was visible when I first came to the thread. Then I went and looked at all the photos, yours and Mrs.T's. When I came back, all the photos were visible.

3 phone calls and a "fatal error" message later, half the pics are missing again. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You are most welcome jaz! It is wonderful to hear and see the support for our Troops in such an alleged liberal area.

When our troops are going in and out honking and yelling Hoorah or stop by to visit, my heart melts and it all seems very worthwhile.
