Now the UN is a quagmire we should develop a quick exit strategy for. Its a failure, when do we get out..or strategically redeploy

That really is a key difference between most of Europe and the US. What the masses want is what happens in the US.

The elites in the UN have trouble understanding the US. Our society allows us to question and be critical of those governing us. Not the same where they come from.

It's tough to take seriously someone who refers to "the most recognized talk show host in America" as "Mr. Limbower." Brown is just flat weird.

Board the NYC HQ up and let the U.S. Government fund UN's relocation to Zimbabwe.
THAT I would pay for.

What is much clearer is this: In America, the public tells the government what to do, not the other way around. That's the theory, anyway.

Interestingly, the pro-UN propaganda Brown wants the US government to engage in is similar to the efforts of the European elites to stifle and deligitimize any EU sceptic voices in Europe.

Th secret roll of the UN that has been kept from middle America is now beginning to be revealed, thanks to people like Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and the Pajamadene and it isn't pretty. This "clown" has been listening to the libs in DC or similar places and has no idea who/what America is about or how it works.

We are seeing the last days of the United Nations. The situation in Darfur reminds me of how Fascist Italy invaded Ethiopia, and the League of Nations did nothing. The situation in Iran reminds me of how Hitler rearmed and the League of Nations did nothing. When the League of Nations was proven ineffective, old balance of power of politics reasserted themselves - not quickly enough the last time.
I am ashamed of this fellow who obviously puts loyalty to the United Nations above that of Great Britain. He ought to remember the land from whence he came, not become intoxicated by the idle flattery of leftist intellectuals.

"Middle America" -- whose media engages in "too much unchecked U.N.-bashing and stereotyping."
Just what I'd expect from a U.N. official. "unchecked" is the key word. In other words the U.S. press should be controlled and only favorable articles allowed. Radio and TV commentators should be monitored or checked.
Since the U.N. is a world body in which the U.S. is in a minority on most issues, the U.S. is wrong and therefore not the U.N. most of the time. Wake up America, the third world majority knows best. If only the U.S. were not involved just think of what the world body could accomplish.
Folks, the U.N. is the only hope in the world. The U.S. must stop being critical and join the rest of the benevolent nations in solving the world problems instead of watching so closely. U.S. demands for reform is unreasonalbe. Oil for food worked just fine before the U.S. got testy and demanded an investigation. Just give us your money and shut up and stop demanding honesty and accountability.

Brown is a complete throwback to the deluded, Lost Generation types who refused to face the harsh reality of the inevitable demise of the League of Nations and the coming Great War. And to think that this clown would, instead of looking at the actual things which will wipe out LoN-II (aka the UN) he tries to fob the whole thing off on so called "American rednecks who listen to EIB" .... sad, pathetic and stupid.

How about if the Iraqi prime minister says that stupid, unpatriotic Americans who live on the East and West Coast are parroting the views of CBS, NBC and ABC, and that it is irresponsibly prolongling the war in Iraq by doing that? What would be the reaction then?

Right now, this is an unprecedented standoff. A spokesman for Mr. Annan said his boss stands by the remarks. It's not clear where we go from here. How about the US getting out of the UN and the UN getting out of the US. That would be a great start.

This morning I was having coffee at a neighbor's home, and she had fox on, and Steve, E.D. and Brian were talking about what to do with the UN building AFTER we kicked Annan out along with his buddies....
"A two bedroom penthouse, all niceties included: $134million" and then they reported because it was the UN they don't pay taxes, federal or state or city, and the city of Manhatten is loosing 13million dollars a year....well we both laughed and said that if Bloomy realizes that he would kick the UN out just the money for Manhatten....
But really, think about it, prime property, and what good is the UN anyway....we should tell them to go to Africa or somewhere where they can't do anything to anyone....
