2008 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton reacted to news of Abu Musab al Zarqawi's death today by recalling that she had witnessed "the terrible consequences" of the al Qaida kingpin's attacks up close and personal.
"I saw firsthand the terrible consequences of Zarqawi's terrorist network when Bill, Chelsea and I visited the hotel ballroom in Amman, Jordan last November where Zarqawi's followers had detonated a bomb at a wedding party, killing and wounding innocent people," Mrs. Clinton said in a statement posted to her web site.
The former first lady called Zarqawi's attacks "despicable," saying that they had "claimed the lives of too many Iraqis and Americans."
Mrs. Clinton added: "I hope that this will be a blow to the insurgency in Iraq and affords an opportunity for the new Iraqi government to build on this success and provide greater security and stability for the Iraqi people"
Good. Gad.

That's a departure from her normal rhetoric. That means their internal polling is saying what many of us here are saying.

Okay, so she isn't the Queen of Evil, but I can't believe that she's saying what she's saying.
First hand? In Jordan? She saw?
How dare she!?! She didn't see a thing in Jordan except some damage, maybe some blood stains, and perhaps she may have heard some first hand accounts and second hand accounts of that bombing. But to claim that the terror invoked by the bombing was witnessed first hand and could be understood just by looking at the after effects is to elevate herself to the status of a survivor of the bombing, which is despicable.
If I walked up to a survivor of the World Trade Center attack on 9/11 and told them I understood what they went through because I saw the rubble at ground zero, I'd deserve the glare and anger that would be directed at me as a consequence. I could never understand how a survivor feels or the terror until I experience the terror first hand and survive. As it is, I only know the terror of knowing that the terrorists would gladly kill me if given the chance. And that is a second hand terror, purely intellectual.

Hmmm, but no mention of the hardworking men and women that afforded the Iraqi government the 'opportunity.' Seems that her comments are lacking in some rather important areas... How 'bout recognizing the accomplishment of our Military and the sacrifices of their families Senator?

Not as a 'Rat, of course. With this release, the Left will completely disown her.
She must think that she can run against McCain and Rudy and win the Republican nomination by supporting the war.
If she were elected POTUS (just the thought is sickening), I wonder how many senior military officers would take early retirement?
