That's been happening for a long time unfortunately. I got a political speech after graduating from high school, undergraduate and graduate school.
I got to sit in the hot Colorado sun and listen to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a Democrat, tell the graduates how priviledged they are to be college graduates (though this was a junior college) and to make a difference in the lives of the poor, etc. etc. The usual stuff. I was actually rather surprised that this guy wasn't more political. It wasn't disrespectful at all, as a matter of fact.
I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that this school has a gunsmithing program?
Anyway, we all got a sunburn out of it.
