As someone who considers himself very Gnostic, we look at all of the additional texts available as akin to the Talmud is to the Jews. They provide a light to view the Bible by. Without additional texts, you have no historical perspective, or in the case of the Nag Hammadi library, a perspective that has gone through fewer revisions and edits than the Bible.

Yes, he also has the right to dislike, but he doesn't have the right to call for the outright banning of a movie that disagrees with his veiws. He called for an outright banning.

I did not see it but it supposedly portrayed Christ as He was tempted thru sex to give up the Cross. He watched Mary M. with other men, and was struggling with his "purpose", full of self contempt.
It was very controversial, starred Willem Dafoe in 1988.
