PORTER GOSS'S TENURE as director of central intelligence began with a public spat between the new reform-minded CIA leadership and an intransigent bureaucracy. Now, 18 months later, it is ending in a cloud of confusion. Goss is gone and so are his agents of change. Two of the CIA officials at the heart of that opening battle--Mary Margaret Graham and Stephen Kappes--have been promoted. And the old guard is happy.
"The move was seen as a direct repudiation of Goss's leadership and as an olive branch to CIA veterans disaffected by his 18-month tenure," wrote Peter Baker and Charles Babington in the Washington Post. Yet Goss had taken to the CIA the high expectations of many top Washington policymakers who work on intelligence issues.

So now the Weekly Standard has taken to echoing the Washington Post's DNC Propaganda. And the Whine All The Time Choir wonders why they seem to be losing all across the board. Here is a clue, quit serving as the echo chamber for your enemies propaganda lies and actual ATTACK the other side on SOMETHING. But that right, if you attack the Left you get hate mail. So much safer for the gutless ones to scream at their own side.

This is far from over.
Mary McCarthy getting fired is a start.
I think I trust MacRanger at Macsmind more than Hayes.
I feel the Bush Administration is aggressively (finally) cleaning out the sleazy clinton moles that exist at all levels of Government.
Not that you would read about it in the papers.

Did any terrorism happen during Goss' tenure? The CIA missed 9/11WTC, Khobar Towers, warship in Yemen, etc. that I wonder if they will be successful in thwarting future attacks?
