The Press Corps is in full defense posture. The headline proves it.

All of this created an atmosphere of contention among the elbow-to-elbow press corps. My goodness! And we all know how difficult it is to get them riled up!! < / scoff >

Thanks for the ping. They sure didn't wait very long before beginning the hate-mode, did they? They will try everything that they can to try to discredit him because he is a strong presence.

On Friday, he scheduled his first informal back-and-forth with the press, an informal, off-camera session called the "gaggle" If Helen Thomas was there, they should have called it the "hag-gle."

Hmmmm, usually when you are the bad mouth your boss to the press, you don't have a job too long. What an Ultra- Marooon.

Snow danced around several queries by saying he did not know enough to answer. And although he had at times been harshly critical of President Bush as a Fox News commentator and conservative radio host, Snow clearly was being careful not to step on the wrong toes now that he speaks on behalf of Bush.Weren't the libs telling us some time ago that the President needs to surround himself with more people holding contrary views?

Although the article tries to paint another picture, Tony is clearly off to a good start. Not surprising that he is not fully up to speed on the issue of denial of security clearance to the DOJ lawyers (I found that interesting as well, and I'll bet there are careerists there that I would not want to have the necessary clearances), and his great sense of humor is standing him in good stead.

And though the press secretary's quarters are among the more spacious in the West Wing, the room quickly filled to overflowing _ so that many reporters were stranded, unable to hear or ask questions, in the hallway outside.Surely someone could have calculated that the number of people who attend the gaggle wouldn't fit into X square feet. Seems like a pretty dumb mistake.
