That's great news. Will U.S. companies be allowed to drill for it?

Great news. If anyone from Louisiana's delegation votes against it then any Katrina money for their district should get pulled.

I'm sure Landrieu and Blanco will find a way to tie in drilling for more money down the hole for their state, thus more corruption money.

"Extraction can begin within two years." No it can't. This will be bottled up in courts for decades.

Would be nice to have a corroborating source on this. Not to mention from someone who knows that "University of Cornell" is normally referred to as "Cornell University", as it isn't in "Cornell", it's in Ithaca, NY.

Yet I have seen rumors, a few from insiders, that the Gulf has more oil than the whole mideast.
Based on the fact that there are already rigs drilling in the gulf, it's believable.

The Chevron logo is prominently displayed with the news story There is no activity in oil investment. When Prudhoe was discovered, Discovery Well #1, everybody was talking. For this, nobody.
