"I gave up thinking a majority of Americans think like I do, when they returned Clinton to office after his first hellish 4 years. There was nothing sane, legal, or organized about the Clinton administration...just consistent evil."

Oh, me too, me too. I also gave up on the press when they did not go after Clintonista corruption the same way they went after Nixonian corruption (which wasn't nearly as serious). I remember the Nixon administration and the press feeding frenzy well. I was in my 20s at the time.

Herndon is full of Blue Dog demos. Here's the Election data from 2005:

.............J W Kilgore(R)........T M Kaine(D)

Herndon #1...... 40.2%.................57.5%

Herndon #2...... 37.3%.................60.4%

Herndon #3...... 38.3%.................60.0%

Absolutely...I really think this latest march/boycott has put a bullseye on the illegals. More and more people are going to start calling for an end to their tax-dollars providing benefits for illegals.

Hmmm. Now what can we do to encourage the illegals to march and demonstrate on Monday, November 6? ;-)

Want to hear something funny? Democrat blogs are angry because conservatives are lining up to steal illegal immigrants jobs.

I grew up never really learning any manual-labor skills (I am 37 now) so for a couple of years I have been working weekends with a friend doing exterior trim, tiling, painting, and numerous other things. I enjoy the exercise, I learn something every time I work with him, and I make a few extra bucks.

Americans should learn more of these skiills. When the tornados came through some states a month ago, the Amish did not wait for government asst or cheap illegal labor. They went to work like ants, neighbor helping neighbor, and rebuilt their homes. Like you, I would love to learn manual labor skills too just like our grandparents. They were the do it yourselfers. Immigration to some extent stems from laziness (the rest is pure greed). Bush can say it but we don't have to make it a truth.

The Herndon council was banking on the fact that Herndon now has a large hispanic community - what they didn't bank on was the legal immigrants who live there also are appalled at tax payer funds being used to aid and abet people breaking the law.

I'd love to say this will be a good lesson for our national politicians, but they're just too damn arrogant to actually take notice.

Part of the reason I want to learn these skills is that as a homeowner I discovered that even if I have to do it 2 or 3 times over it is still cheaper than hiring someone. Also, I do a better job because I have to look at it daily. And the tricks and tips I learn stay with me.

I agree. How absurd. Ann Coulter has a good quote about this.

IMO, the great May 1st walk out and protest was a big BUST! Am I the only one who thinks this? It sure didn't cripple the economy like they said it would.

Don't forget to return the favor and boycott Cinco De Mayo. That could be very noticeable indeed in some places, as it is directed at basically one group -- Mexican restaurants -- instead of the diffuse May 1 efforts of landscaping, housecleaning, certain restaurants, car washes, etc.

Well the maintenance supervisor for the condos across the street is a naturalized citizen.

He is upset that the citizenship he had to earn is being given away to those who have not earned the right by following the law as he has done.

He gave me an ear full yesterday about being sold out by the Democrats and some Republicans in Congress.

"Karl Rove, Bill Frist, John Boehner, Denny Hastert - Are you listening. The sound of foot steps behind you should get your attention."

No they are not and they should rightfully become the minority party in November if they don't get on board.

Northern Virginia has more in common with Maryland than the rest of the state...that this should occur in a wine and cheese bedroom community is a positive thing.

The problem, as I see it, is that these recalcitrant career politicians have been inside the Beltway and insulated by the "thought police" who all think of one mind regardless of party.

They all are being squeezed by business who are telling them that to succeed, they need a constant influx of illegals to be able to compete in a world economy.

Then, their "advisers," you know other career Beltway types who have never lived west of the Allegheny and definitely west of the Mississippi River, all drink the same Kool Aid and believe that (1) America needs cheap labor, and (2) It is being uncaring not to embrace those less fortunate, etc., etc, (in other words the NYT and WaPo would call you mean and even racist.)

Herndon voters yesterday unseated the mayor and Town Council members who supported a bitterly debated day-labor center for immigrant workers illegal aliens in a contest that emerged as a mini-referendum on the turbulent national issue of illegal immigration

Fixed

If you know anything about Herndon...western Fairfax...it is hardly a "wine and cheese bedroom community," that would be Great Falls and McLean.

Arlington, Alexandria, and much of Fairfax are more liberal than downstate VA (while they also provide much of the tax-base for Richmond), but it's unfair to compare them to Maryland--which is close to Massachusetts in its federal congressional voting record.

Conservative Frank Wolf represents much of Northern VA, and he could never have gotten elected in Maryland.

There are a lot more just like him, but somehow the media can't seem to find them to interview!

I visited a sister who lives there about a month ago, and I neglected to get a sense for the controversy...

I will get more info about this.

Any locality that would have elected the officials who set up that illegal alien job center in the first place qualifies as liberal...whether in Virginia or Maryland...sorry.
