Totalitarian chic-Nazi regalia may be taboo, but communist emblems have never been trendier
Jewish World Review ^ | 5-1-06 | Jeff Jacoby

Posted on 05/01/2006 5:38:33 AM PDT by SJackson

In January 2005, Britain's Prince Harry attended a birthday party dressed as a Nazi. When the London Sun published a picture of the prince in his German desert uniform and swastika armband, it triggered widespread outrage and disgust. In scathing editorials, Harry was condemned as an ignorant and insensitive clod; months later, he was still apologizing for his tasteless costume. "It was a very stupid thing to do," he said in September. "I've learnt my lesson."

For a more recent example of totalitarian fashion, consider Tim Vincent, the New York correspondent for NBC's entertainment newsmagazine, "Access Hollywood." Twice in the last few weeks, Vincent has introduced stories about upcoming movies while sporting an open jacket over a bright red T-shirt — on which, clearly outlined in gold, was a large red star and a hammer-and-sickle: the international emblems of totalitarian communism.

And what was the public reaction to seeing those icons of cruelty and death turned into the latest yuppie style? Furor? Moral outrage? Blistering editorials?

None of the above.

You forgot to add the caption. :)

Well put. The hammer and sickle should be no less offensive than the swastika. The difference is that the Left still believes that communism is a fine system that just hasn't been done right yet (although I guess there are still some fossils around on the Far Left who think the USSR was great). They don't yet grasp that any socialist state is totalitarian by its very nature. The system isn't merely immoral, it's anti-human. The ignorance sickens me.

It is similar to seeing the images of Che Guervo (sp?). One of the neighborhood kids has a Che sticker on his truck. I talked with him a few times and I asked him if he understands what Che has done. Nope is his response ! I mentioned to him that he needs to do some research. I seen him a few times since but the response was always nothing.

Pretty sad. As a result of ignorance and being apathetic, we end up getting a crappy gov't as a result.

My picture is on her Politburo.

I bump into her occasionally in our building's bathroom downstairs.

I gave her toilet paper for May Day Celebration.

It is true. During the build up for the Gulf War (before ship out obiously), many of my buddies and I went to peace rallies and repeatedly had illicit relations with hot, but vapid, peace chicks.

You people are pretty good about getting info on individuals. I'd be interested in knowing what college this girl is attending, and what scholarships/grants if any she has been given.

If I had to start from scratch, I would search publications reporting on a student suing a hairdresser for gross negligence.

Brezhnev and Nixon took a trip by helicopter to inspect workers in the suburbs of Moscow. Nixon noticed workers' barracks with television aerials and exclaimed, 'You have surpassed us! We still don't have TVs in our pigsties!'

I saw these things on sale everywhere Saturday: Central Park, Chinatown, Cooper Square....

I wanted to get in their faces about it, but what would be the use? Lenin himself said the capitalists will sell us the rope we use to hang them.

Spread the word:

Maybe, but they're not the kind of girls a fellow brings home to met his mother.

When I was a sweet young thing (back when the earth's crust was cooling) my mother solumnly told me, "Boys may have 'fun' with girls who are Democrats, but they marry Republican girls."

LOL. Pretty much.

We alternated between being peace morons and poor stupid victims who were going to an evil war for oil.

Either approach worked very well, especially as all the guy peace protesters were hardly manly. (Which is ironic, peace chicks were drawn to obviously solder-looking guys.)

Ah, youth.

Is that Debra LaFave? Or the other psycho in TN who is going back to jail for stalking her 13 yr. old rape victim?

Let's see now, attractive young woman, college educated and degreed, public school teacher, end result of liberated feminism. Child rapist who is given a pass by the dregs and bottom feeders amongst men who think that sick, sick woman gave some young boy the best time of his life. These are the kinds of men who couldn't maintain a good sexual relationship if their lives depended on it. The kind of men who post dirty comments on such things and then cruise MySpace looking for an easy score aka a 14 yr. old girl who is stupid and lonely.

It is easy to see how the topic in this article by Jeff Jacoby could be sidetracked. The topic is the growing fad among celebrities and the parasitical culture around them to embrace the symbol of communism. Today is the May Day for Communists. There are out in our nations' streets, hiding amongst the thousands of protesters/puppets.

Every time that the focus is taken off the increasingly blatant acts of the Communists/feminists/socialists/homosex agenda, we lose. My guess is that the model in this picture is one in a million. The other million minus one are very likely to be hardcore uglies who scare their own mothers.
The kind of women who desperately need a bath and a good bra, loud, lazy, crazy and mean. That describes most feminists and anti types that I've seen. They will be out if force today, the Communist May Day.

Pay attention. The ugly feminists are counting on men to be distracted by the Debbie slut in the Commie T-shirt.

"Boys may have 'fun' with girls who are Democrats, but they marry Republican girls.""

Also true. Met Mrs. MWT at a church (which is pretty funny for a Jewish guy).

My point was that her shirt made her look about as attractive as a pile of manure.
