Bush is behaving like a puppet on a string. Otherwise he would realize that by knifing his political base in the back the way he is gets him a democrat congress in 2006 and gets him impeached by that democrat congress in 2007. It's as though he is not in control of his own thought processes.
thanks. sure. it's yours. frankly, i'm not sure i can claim it is mine: it is the result of ruminating on the various thoughts of many others over the years.
you know, i read about the study here on fr. i think. i seem to recall that there were at least a couple threads appertaining thereto, but i couldn't find them after a few searches. so i went to google and tried and failed again. hm. can somebody help me? or did i have a particularly realistic dream? i did, however, find the following page, which makes much the same points as did i, with the exception that it being a lefty source, their answer is to raise farm wages via government mandate (minimum wage, etc.), where i myself, and many on this forum, too, i believe, would rely on market forces (and enforcement of our immigration laws) to do the trick. but, for what it's worth: http://www.therationalradical.com/documents/farm_workers.htm
my best recollection is that articles about it were posted and discussed here sometime not too long before last christmas, because i remember discussing it with my nephew in the car when he picked me up at the airport. but, as i said, i looked and looked and could not find anything anywhere about it. maybe it was just a dream, and, if so, i wish someone would tell me so i would stop running around making an idiot of myself talking about nonexistent things.
