Protesters are gathering to rally against a new round of raids on undocumented immigrants.

Numerous raids have left Chicago families without their loved ones, and this morning the government is talking about its new policy.

[snip]

But illegal immigrant advocates are calling this action and crackdown immoral and they are outraged. They are planning a protest outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters and another protest is planned this afternoon.

They are asking immigration officials to halt action until Congress comes up with its new laws because it might allow some immigrants to remain in the U.S.

Michelle Malkin has some keen insights into these raids on her site today.

Suspicious timing is you ask me. Methinks Bush is trying to soften everyone up so he has a better chance of getting his amnesty proposal passed when Congress reconvenes.

Suspicious timing is you ask me.

The investigation started almost a year ago and the raid took months to coordinate.

They want ICE to halt action, while they pour across the border, in record numbers and at break neck speed in anticipation of Amnesty.

Senator Graham (R-South Carolina) says that the status quo is the biggest amnesty program of them all.

Once the number of illegals goes up to 20 or 30 millions, then they will own the issue.

The illegals were quickly released in Houston, under the excuses of 'overcrowding' and 'computer glitches.' How can the feds remove 30 million people then if they can't handle a few dozens of illegals?

The audacity of our government to outrage these criminals!

They didn't protect the country. It was a "catch and relase" raid. All the illegals captured were given court dates and let go - never to be seen again.

Hook, line, and sinker, huh?

No, I just know some of the folks involved.

Facts is facts.

It was a "catch and relase" raid.

Wrong. See post #15.

Don't enforce the laws until we can get the laws deleted. Nice.

Or until we have let in enough illegals to create "facts on the ground," a strong bargaining position.

It's kinda like having a yard full of gophers....

As long as they are allowed to eat all the garden they want they dont stick their heads up...too often

Cut them off though...and they suddenly appear all over the place and then you know you have a major infestation....

imo

Man, how naive are you?

Do you work for CBP or ICE?

I do. Have you spoken with any agents involved in the investigation and raids?

I have.

Thanks for playing.

Next!

Precisely.

Statements such as yours will spread like wildfire all the way back to Mexico.

They will see our LEOs as powerless and inept fools, and will continue to swarm into our nation.

In short, we are in serious trouble.

Boo hoo. This is what happens when you are here illegally and, frankly, it should happen more often.
