Look out your window! Is the low pressure zone sucking reporters in yet? Expect high winds and hysterically false stories about bodies in freezers.

Select North Central US, and look at the available radar pics... REALLY blasted strange.

I'm not kidding. This is radar and wind advisory data from the NWS. Today. Right Now.

Ummm..it's a "storm" More technically, a baroclinic cyclone.
They all have low pressure, high winds, and spin counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.
It's not "warm core" hence not a tropical system or a "hurricane" though you can have "hurricane-force" (75 mph winds) from such cyclones.
Not certain what's so amazingly unusual about this. I've noticed that it's impossible to see weather discussed anymore without hyperbole.

It's the Bush Administration's fault.

Sorry to freak, y'all. It's just so well formed, and I read an advisory on it earlier saying it had 84 mph winds. Hurricane strength.
That's wierd, any way you slice it. Gotta go.

Land based circular storms are rare. I only remember a couple in my life. After I first clicked there I thought it was a weather model.
Unreal.

Sure looks like a hurricane, but it's just a low pressure center.

Gotta be a tropical cyclone to be a cane.

We had something pass through last week that looked pretty similar.

It's just the beginning of a global superstorm... Nothing to be concerned about (at least, for today and tomorrow... The Day After Tomorrow is a different story)

Karl Rove must have fired up the hurricane machine for a little spin, making sure it's all ready to go once Bush decides which blacks he wants dead this summer.
