Wiesenthal to Germany: Declare Ahmadinejad 'persona non grata'

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has urged Germany to declare Iran's president "persona non grata" if he decides to attend this year's World Cup.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has drawn international outrage for labeling the Nazi Holocaust a myth and calling for Israel's destruction.

He has not said whether he will travel to the World Cup, where Iran is one of the 32 teams competing. The German government has said a visit would be problematic but that, like other heads of state, he has a right to attend.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center expressed its concerns in a letter to Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Tuesday.

"After his denial of the Holocaust, his calls 'to wipe Israel off the world map,' his encouragement to global terrorism and his nuclear threats, President Ahmadinejad should not be welcome in Berlin," the letter said, according a statement from the European office of the Los Angeles-based organization.

The center "urged that Iran's president be declared persona non grata ... from German soil until he desists from such behavior that violates the norms of international relations," the statement added.

Germany has sharply criticized Ahmadinejad's comments on Israel and the Holocaust.

At the weekend, Wolfgang Bosbach, a senior member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, said the government should "make clear in a diplomatic way that Ahmadinejad's visit in Germany is not wanted."

FIFA president Sepp Blatter declined to join calls to ban President Ahmadinejad from the tournament.

"If any head of state wants to travel to Germany, this is a matter to be dealt with by the German authorities and definitely not by FIFA," Blatter said. "I would be happy that any head of state would accompany his team and to be present in Germany."

Sure, so that all the Muslims use my country as the training camp for suicide belts. Thanks, but no. I rather suggest to cause an airspace accident in Tehran: several F-16 were mislead from their flights over Iraq and accidently dropped a bomb over the president´s head.

They are going to do that sooner or later anyway.

There will be no getting away from it.
That course is properly called appeasement.

My word, now they don't allow nations to rule themselves?

Next words they'll use is the false god of anti-semitism.

In relation to jihad exporting Ahmadinejad could you expand on your comments below, especially the second one ?

"My word, now they don't allow nations to rule themselves? Next words they'll use is the false god of anti-semitism."

Are you suggesting that a cabal of Jews is trying to run nations?
Wouldn't a more rational response be taht given Germany's recent history, it should make the effort not to be seen as conciliatory towards a genocidal Islamist?

Next words they'll use is the false god of anti-semitism.
I do hope that you can explain this before you are zotted.

Who is the "they" you speak of? The U.S.? We certainly stick our noses into others' business as well.

Lighten up, sometimes the ZOG acts openly. It's just the Zionists giving the German government their marching orders. Nations don't rule themselves when the ZOG is in control.

The ZOG. You know who runs the US. President Bush gets his marching orders from the IDF, who he answers too, from Mofaz via Yaakov Katz. I thought you knew all this stuff.
