It is a good thing I don't live in California, my Jack Russel Hairy would have a criminal record. He has killed 2 swamp rabbits this month in my back yard and yesterday the dogs found a rabbit nest with 3 babies. We saved 2 of the babies.

I agree about the enforcement and fines for people who don't keep their dogs on leash and pick up after them. And, as far as wildlife and whatever gross things are in the grass, at least you can SEE a dog dropping!
I really hated cats running loose when my kids were little because every sandbox you would go to had lots of little *hidden gems*. I think cats should be equally subject to leash laws!

How on earth did you get your dog classified as a service dog?

You're cat hunts mice and then leaves a body?

" My position is very simple - we all qualify for Service Animals under the ADA - ya just gotta know the strings to pull for your particular situation." That may be one of the most helpful things ever posted to FR. Thanks!

The Cavalry, Texas Divisions 1, 2 and 3. Welcome aboard.
Where in TX are you? Me, the wife, the baby due in July and the Pug are going to be Texans by October in the Allen area. Any thoughts or info on that area?

Thanks for posting this.
I thought some California FReepers would like to know what might happen if it gets passed without their knowledge.

McAllen Not a chance. Allen, TX will be fine. Just got back from house hunting and visiting family. We just listed our postage stamp sized townhome in Irvine, CA for an ungodly amount and will have a bidding war over it soon. We are ready to leave and find a slower pace of life for the new baby and my wife. Our goal has been a single income family and that is what we intend to do in TX.

Yeah and they bring other gifts for us like bats, moles, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, and bluegills - and not all dead!

Good morning.
"Dog ownership to become a crime..."
There just isn't room for dogs in those urban high density towers that the tree hugging fascists want us all living in after they return most of the country to a state of wilderness.
There isn't room for guns either, and we would have no need for a car. Not to worry, though. Hollywood will keep us entertained with plenty of reality shows and light hearted but PC comedies.

I would encourage everyone that cares about hunting, fishing, gun, and sportsman's issues to sign up for USSA ( US Sportsman's Alliance) alert email newsletters.
They are a non profit group that track bills and legislation nationwide that effect sportsmen while you still have time to call your state Representatives before they vote.
It costs nothing, they send no spam, they send nothing asking for donations, and in my humble opinion, they are doing a great job of defending sportsmen and giving a "heads up" on new laws etc.
I don't work for them ( or anyone else for that matter).
I seldom get more than 1-2 emails a month from them, but every one of them are worthwhile knowing about.
If it effects another state than my own ( as in this case), I try to get the word out to someone there that might care.
