I have no argument with you about the oppression that still exists in PRC...but it is far less severe compared to the economic and cultural oppression that the Cuban people experience every day of their lives in Cuba.
Cubans should be allowed every opportunity to escape from that gulag hell. That some think not reflects on their ignorance and prejudices.
It probably depends on one's viewpoint on abortion. To pro-life people, PRC conducts mass government killing of babies. To pro-choice people, it isn't all that severe. And Cuba is a gulag, to be sure.
