Hef's a sad creature these days.
Hefner should also help women who were lured into the sex industry and exploitedincluding those Playboy Bunnies he made famous, so many of whose lives ended tragically.
What strikes me about this situation is how many of these women think Playboy will be their big break. They should ask themselves how big Hef's fortune is and how many former Playboy bunnies ride around in limos.

Equating what Hugh Hefner did in the 1950s with modern-day pornography, much less even something like Larry Flynt's Hustler Magazine, is absurd.
If anything, Hef is similar to Jann Wenner of "Rolling Stone" magazine fame. A long time ago it was a breakthrough of sorts, but it has long since stopped being relevant to Zeitgeist. Plus, today's Playmates are Photoshopped and siliconed to ridiculous levels.

I admit, I am sexually addicted... to my wife.
As for porn, I think the worst thing that has happened to it, is its mainstreaming. Porn will never be !PORN! again, if ya catch my drift...

Hefner is just Larry Flynt in pajamas. Both are sleazy porn merchants.
'From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Larry Flynt - Larry Claxton Flynt, Jr. (born November 1, 1942) is an American magazine publisher. He is the head of Larry Flynt Publications (LFP), producing over twenty magazines, including Hustler, with an annual turnover of around $150 million.'

Chuck gives Hef way too much credit. Like Helen Gurley Brown, he just happened to be in the right place with the right idea at the right time to make buckets of money off the sexual revolution. Betcha you couldn't fill a big hotel ballroom with people who have actually read the almost unreadable "Playboy philosophy."

The picture of Hefner on his eightieth birthday sitting in his mansion in his bathrobe, in the company of girlfriends paid to be there, and his jars of Viagra tablets, is a pathetic, tragic one, and it exposes his true legacy. The lesson: The life lived in pursuit of pleasure and self-gratification leads to nothing less than self-destruction. Right on. Nothing is more pathetic, really, than a dirty old man. Compare the dignity and grace of an older man--let's say Billy Graham or GHW Bush to the pitiful hedonistic sight of a Larry Flynt or Hugh Hefner.

Hugh Hefner has done MORE to promote promiscuity, abortion, hatred between the sexes and radical feminism than anyone alive today.

Almost every media or media distribution mechanism has been used for "porn" practically since its inception -- painting, photography, post cards, motion pictures, magnetic video, digital still and video, the old BBS systems and the Internet.

I liked this one, but I won't tolerate him when he's woefully misinformed on illegal immigration. I unsubscribed after his column today.

"What strikes me about this situation is how many of these women think Playboy will be their big break."
- For years I've considered Heffner's unofficial title to be, "Procurer to the Stars".
With his west coast mansion being, in his words; "Party Central", his role is to stock it with pretty young, fresh and impressionable girls to act as eye candy for his long list of Hollywood lechers who come to his regular "parties" to look over the latest additions and cull the crop for mistresses or one night stands. As host, Heff exercises his prerogative as having the right of first refusal for the crop being presented for his guests consideration.
If he was paid in cash for his services, he could more accurately described as a pimp, but since he takes his fee in the form of favors returned, everyone pretends that he's just a good time Charlie who enjoys company.

If it hadn't been Hefner, it would have been somebody else. Hollywood (and French and Italian) sex bombs were happening at the same time he was getting started and needed no help from Hugh!

No mention of the Playboy channel which I always associated with Hugh Hefner whether he was the owner or not. I visited a friend whose husband was out of town and late in the evening I was flipping channels and for the first time saw the pornography on the Playboy channel. My friend said her husband watched it every night and insisted on subscribing to it. I thought then, and do now, that having that bilge coming into a home is corrosive to the marriage and the inner peace of those addicted to watching it. This couple had young daughters who would be affected by their father's escalation of sexual titillation. The marriage ended before their teens and the husband went from bad to worse. Hefner didn't invent pornography but he contributed to the miserable industry that degrades both sexes. He is as disgusting to me as he is pitiful.
