NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has reported the test firing of its fourth new missile in less than a week.

Officials said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched the missile during the Holy Prophet exercise in the Gulf on Wednesday. They said the test was successful.

"Today we have successfully tested a new air-to-sea-and-ground missile capable of being fired from planes and helicopters, which can evade anti-missile missiles," IRGC spokesman Rear Adm. Mohammed Ibrahim Dehqani said.

The missile was called Nour. As in previous announcements, Dehqani provided few details of the latest indigenous weapon.

Iran unveils another missile

Drop one down that well where that 12th Imam is.

"Ahmadinejad's messianic beliefs and his obsession with the 12th imam have become an open subject of debate in Tehran. Meeting with his cabinet shortly after taking office last August, the new president reportedly had Cabinet members sign a loyalty oath to the 12th imam, which they dropped into a well near where the Shiite messiah is believed to be hiding."

The way I figure it, Iran must be pooping it's collective panties over fear of a US/Israel/Brit invasion. Arab/muslim bragging. Sorta summarized in the Michael Nesmith song "Tahiti Condo."

For your amusment if you don't know the song. Picture a couple of sheiks trying to out brag each other.

It appears that Iran has been busy acquiring arms with its huge influx of dollars from the inflated price of oil.

"As many as the cardboard tubes they have paint for!"

I think there's some truth in that.
Just because they're showing things off, doesn't mean they have any quantity. And if it's only on display (as in a parade), it doesn't mean that it actually does what it's advertised to do.

Witness the "flying boat which can launch missiles in flight" Iran trotted out last week. Hah! It looks like plywood with a Briggs & Stratton.

The regime treats its population as though they are dealing with little children.
They think they can treat the rest of the world the same way.
Just doesn't fly in the real world. (unintentional pun)

Was this one produced by their Magic Carpet Industries or is it a variant of the Chinese One-Hung-Low missile?

From what little I know about weapons, it doesn't seem you can really deploy a system without testing it.

There's really no way to real world test a missile underground.

Ergo, if they tested a missile, then our intelligence services likely new the results before the Mullah's did.

We are spending Billions developing weapons that these guys are putting out every day. I think we need to hire their scientists and fire ours. S/

See how much time and money the Iranians are saving in their weapons programs? They don't have to develop the weapons themselves, only a grainy video of some borrowed Russian piece of equipment. Together with an hilarious script which claims the new missile can jump through a hoop and not be seen by God Almighty, and that's their "new weapon."

This is entirely in line with the Muslim strategy of fighting their battles primarily in the Western press, because they lose all the battles they fight anywhere else.

Did I miss anything?

P.S. I have an early primary for Congress in the 11th District of North Carolina, 2 May, less than a month away. Please visit my website in the tagline, and help however you can.

Maybe some former Iraqi scientists bought themselves a new life with some recycled research from Iraq.

The Iranians are probably just doing what the Russians did ...just keep flying the same planes by the viewing stand to make the air force look bigger or recycle the same missles in the parade with a quick paint job and some phony fins to make them look like new ones.
