JAYNA DAVIS - why won't Rohrbacher bring my video interviews before his committee in closed session?

ROHRBACHER DEMANDING NEW PROBE OF OKC

Jayna Davis and I had an interesting phone conversation this morning. She is still waiting for a plane ticket to D.C. and an invitation to testify about the OKC bombing. Neither has been forthcoming.

Is it good news that Rep. Dana Rohrbacher (R-CA) is demanding a new probe of the OKC bombing? Maybe. But is it going to really get to the truth about the Middle Eastern connection to OKC? Maybe not.

Last year, David Schippers, famous for prosecuting both the Chicago mob and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, flew to OKC to meet Jayna and her witnesses. Dave spent 12 hours grilling 14 of them on camera.

When he was finished, he told Jayna that, with just three of them, he would get a federal indictment of Hussain al-Hussaini in one day. FBI agent Dan Vogel told her he could do the same -- with one of her witnesses. That is how credible they were.

So why, Congressman Rohrbacher, did you tell Jayna that the committee has no budget to fly her to Washington, D.C.? What is the problem? Are we finally going to get the truth or is this grandstanding?

Andreas Carl Strassmeier has six witnesses saying that he was building a fence at the time of the bombing. He couldn't have been with McVeigh. Of 1100 fingerprints tied to the crime scene, none are Strassmeier's. Not one of 30,000 witnesses ties Strassmeier to the crime.

Here is a question for you, Congressman. Well, actually seven questions. Ten months ago, Jayna gave these to you in writing and still is waiting for the answers.

1. Why has the Justice Department/FBI not issued an official on-the-record statement exonerating Hussain Al-Hussaini of complicity in the Oklahoma City bombing? Has the DOJ provided Congress with Hussain Al-Hussaini’s whereabouts for the critical hours of the morning of April 19, 1995?

2. Why did the FBI never question Hussain Al-Hussaini about the bombing?

3. Why did the FBI previously suspect Al-Hussaini’s employer of ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization?

4. Why were the original motel registration logs where witnesses testified McVeigh checked in with Al-Hussaini’s Iraqi cohort the evening of April 18, 1995, never returned to the establishment’s owner?

5. Whatever happened to the brown Chevrolet pickup that was seen carrying Middle Eastern suspects from the bomb site? The Oklahoma City police found fingerprints inside the recovered truck. Why were these prints not compared to the immigration files of the three Middle Eastern nationals whom witnesses observed in that getaway vehicle before, during, and after the bombing?

6. Why did the Bureau rebuff my efforts to surrender the witness statements and supporting evidence in September 1997? Why did the FBI withhold from the defense teams the twenty-two witness affidavits that I delivered to FBI Special Agent Dan Vogel in January 1999?

7. Why were the prior warnings issued by the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare that predicted an Islamic attack in the “heart of the U.S.” disregarded as an indicator of foreign participation?

Congressman Rohrbacher needs to bring Jayna and Schippers to meet with the committee in closed session. The committee needs to see the on camera interviews of 14 eye witnesses. It needs to be done in closed session to protect the witnesses. They stepped forward as patriots facing great risk.

The real story of OKC should have been told long ago. Let's finally get it told now. Bill Clinton did not want to deal with Middle East terror on our soil. He wanted this to be domestic terror. That is what he got. Who are those deep inside the FBI who are responsible for continuing the coverup?

The truth about OKC will forever end any remaining legacy of the impeached William Jefferson Blythe Clinton. Had he dealt with OKC, 9-11 could have been prevented. He ignored Middle East terror, created the vast right wing conspiracy, and his Kool-Aid drinkers dug in their heels. He would be held accountable for nothing. They stood with him no matter what because they had to fight the dreaded right wing. That is how Clinton divided America as never before.

If anyone would like to join me in calling the congressman, he is at (202) 225-2415.

Paul Berkowitz just got back to me. We are not going to dictate to them how this is going to be done. They are not going to pay for someone's plane ticket. If I have a video for them to see, I am supposed to send it in an envelope. They cannot guarantee that it would be shown in closed committee. He claimed that his office is not trying to hold back the truth.

The real story of OKC should have been told long ago. Let's finally get it told now.

Well, I've been unable to find a clear, concise, convincing, bite-size argument as to what "really" happened, and I've read quite a few of these articles etc.

I'll accept the blame for being unable to knit the entire story from each little tidbit here and there, but instead of hinting things with twenty-question type rhetoricals, how about someone write a one paragraph explanation (without hyperlinks or footnotes) that just simply summarizes who did what and who is covering up what and why.

If it's so simple, and if this is to be picked up by the rest of the sound-bite world....then that has to be done first.

Have you read any of the links on the page? Who knows why anyone covers stuff up; we can't be expected to know why the FBI and CIA acts the way it does.

By the way, though, I have seen a "debate" between Stephen Hayward (a solid conservative, who has examined al-Qaeda) and Mylroie, and she was not persuasive.

Have you read Mylroie's The War against America and Bush vs The Beltway? Perhaps you didn't find Mylroie persuasive because you have already made up your mind and are just seeking those who agree with your preconcieved version of the "truth." What was Hayward's contention?

Also, please look at the endnotes in "1000 Years for Revenge" by Peter Lance, who examines Davis's evidence and, ultimately, discounts it. You'd have to read his analysis---and he's hardly someone looking to "cover anything up." But I will order Davis's book right away.

Lance carries his own baggage. I don't trust anyone who worked for ABC as a reporter. Read this 2003 interview by Amy Goodman with Lance and Minter

We are not going to dictate to them how this is going to be done.

I'm not interested in dictating anything...I just want to see a more involved investigation into what happened in OK City, what happened to the (likely) additional suspects, and what has been done to make sure this does not happen again. I for one would like to see the videos the FBI has finally admitted to having and I would especially like to see the one the Secret Service agent describes.

LS had it wrong about Lance.

In the course of his investigation, Lance revisits the bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, and he finds "a growing body of evidence" to suggest that Ramzi Yousef may have designed that truck bomb. He devotes a chapter to this possibility, citing potential connections between Yousef and Nichols (who was married to a Filipina). It also emerges that Murad -- Yousef's co-conspirator -- claimed responsibility for the 1995 Murrah Building bombing on the morning it happened. An FBI document confirms it. (Full disclosure: I've spoken to Peter Lance several times, after first hearing about his work-in-progress from a whistle-blower group that champions FBI reform.)

The biggest problem that I have with discounting the evidence that they may have worked with Arabs and what not in the Philippines is...what would two basically unemployed white boys from Oklahoma be doing making so many trips there?

Wasn't Nichols wife...from the Philippines?

THE THIRD TERRORIST - pp. 168-69

UNMISTAKABLE STENCH

Toolbox in hand, Randy springed from the motel office to repair a leaking faucet in room 128. The evening rush hour for customer check-in fast approached as the afternoon of April 18 faded into twilight. The economy-minded owner often opened doors and windows while he worked in vacant rooms in order to save on heating and air-conditioning bills. While sizing up the plumbing parts needed to compete the repair, a gentle wind swept through, flooding the air with noxious fumes. Randy took a deep breath. He discerned the unmistakable stench of diesel fuel. When he walked outdoors to investigate, he observed a large Ryder truck pulling under a cottonwood tree in a recreational vehicle park which occupied the east side of the motel property.

Randy returned to his task momentarily, but the pungent odor grew so overwhelming, he remerged from the room. At that moment, two men traversed the parking lot from the Ryder truck and strolled along the breezeway where he was standing. Randy would later identify the pair as Timothy McVeigh and Hussain Al-Hussani. The diplomatic businessman hesitated to admonish them about the truck before inquiring if they were motel guests.

Meanwhile, an irate resident in the Cactus RV campsite phoned the motel lobby to register a complaint about the malodorous van. The desk clerk, Georgia Hammerstein, answered the call.

“A large Ryder truck with an overpowering smell is parked outside my RV. Please get it out of here,” the customer implored.

“Yes ma’am. We will check on it right away,” Georgia tactfully promised. Agitated by the inconvenient interruption, she scurried across the lobby and opened the door. The reek of diesel fuel steamrolled through the office. At that moment, Randy darted through the entryway.

“Did the men in that Ryder truck check into the motel?” he asked.

“Thankfully, they haven’t,” Georgia replied as her husband Gary limped into the lobby, hobbling on a cane. The putrid smell awakened him from a nap in the next room. The couple often slept on the premises when they split twenty-four hour shifts managing the registration desk. Recovering frm an excruciating hip surgery, the forty-eight-year-old army veteran did not have patience to spare.

“Where is that awful smell coming from”” he grumbled.

Randy pointed out the window at the large Ryder truck as the moving van slowly lumbered across the parking lot. The trio watched as it headed north toward the filling station next door.

I've always remembered that section of the book. And some of the 9/11 hijackers stayed at the same motel - The Cactus Motel.

For those who don't know, the Cactus Motel and many names in the book are not the real names. Jayna has been protecting the witnesses. She flipped when I just told her that Rohrbacher's aide suggested that she put the video in an envelope and send it to them.

I know a lot of names aren't real, but I think the Cactus Motel was the real name of the motel, but I'd have to re-read some stuff to confirm it. Regardless, the 9/11 hijackers stayed in the same hotel as the OKC planners.

I'm disgusted with Congress. Just disgusted. I can well imagine Jayna isn't about to put stuff in the stinkin' mail for crying out loud. That's an insult.

That is where his second wife is from. It kind of makes good cover for Nichols to make an occasional trip...but McVeigh? And they made a number of trips.

Jesse Pearce (not real name):

The downtown tire salesman who testified he gave Timothy McVeigh directions to Fifth and Harvey Streets where the federal offices were located approximately thirty minutes before detonation. The witness pegged Hussain Al_hussaini as the dark-haired stranger whom he saw sitting in the passenger seat of the Ryder truck when McVeigh drove into the parking lot of Johnny's Tire Store at 8:30am on April 19.

At least I have read Mylroie and Davis who dispute the accepted or conventional wisdom. You cite Lance who in 2003 said,

PETER LANCE: We had the Kennedy assassination, the Warren commission which even, the Warren commission has been subject to great doubt over the yeas. This is the greatest unsolved mass murder in American history. One year, two years later, as far as we know the only indictment is Zacharias Massiah, the alleged 20th hijacker, unless they have sealed indictments which we don't know about. And the idea that they don't pull out all the stops, that they don't fund, that this administration isn't' completely cooperating with this 9/11 commission. Even Tom Kean republican Governor of New Jersey chastised the White House in July for not fully cooperating. The fact that they are not pulling out all the stops is just indicative of how much they have to hide of this president's culpability and his father's culpability as well. And all I ask of you Richard, in your next book and I wish you'd done it in this book. My book is 576 pages and I fit both of the Bush bookends in somehow. I would just ask in your next book you be as virulent or meticulous if you will in your criticism of this administration as you are of the last one. ??

RICHARD MINITER: But this is not sound-byte radio as you said earlier. Let's remember why Saddam Hussein funds terrorists or did fund terrorist including Al Qaeda. Because they're cutouts in intelligence terms and what that means is that you can then deny the link to this group, you get to wage war and without having to take the consequences of that war back into your homeland and he of course funded groups that publicly hated him, composed of individuals at lower levels who openly despised him quite genuinely. That's why you employ cutouts. That's why certain extremist Trotsky's groups were actually funded by the Soviet's who if they knew would have been disgusted because they hated the Soviet Union. ?

PETER LANCE: There's a big difference between sending money and funding and running an operation and the clear implication that the neo-cons through Laurie and Wolfowitz is that, and now Cheney, they're holding on to the last straw because they had one piece of paper showing the Al Qaeda, 9/11, I mean the Saddam 9/11 connection would be on the front page of the Washington times. So they don't have anything left to justify the invasion which is going immensely badly at this point so they holding onto that and there's just no proof of it.

I think Lance had a definite point of view in 2003 and he has one now. He is far from being objective.
