These kids don't even know what they are doing. It is a free pass to get out of school for them.

SAN DIEGO – Hundreds of protesters who had gathered in Chicano Park Friday morning began marching to City Hall around noon to demonstrate against proposed changes to federal immigration policies.
Police estimated the crowd at around 1,500 protesters, including students and others. The group began marching through city streets during the lunch hour.

About 1,100 students didn't show up for classes at San Diego city schools Friday, a school district spokesman said. Students around the county – and in other locations – have staged protests all week.

“We have been bracing for a big day,” said city schools spokesman Steven Baratte.

Just heard on ABC news that students in Apache Junction (Suburb of Phoenix) burned the Mexican flag that some wetback-lover brought to school!

And the school superintendent says, "Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken!"

I'm all for that, as long as his idea of disciplinary action involves giving each one of them a medal!

Thanks for the ping, BG. I thought that this might be a regular day off for LAUSD, as in the beginning of Spring Break.

I've been telling folks who chuckle over what they see going on in France - the US is just a few years behind.

Please, I for this school thing calming down a bit. Teenagers on the whole are not so hot at managing emotions and this politics will be just a cover for some people to start a fight over BS.

It is my opinion that we are already in WWIV ( WWIII being the Cold War ) and there are two, somewhat interlocking elements to it:

Islam, a Religion of Peace®? ( links, blogs, quips, quotes, aggravating pictures ) is located here- click the Pic, and scroll backwards:

"Thunder on the Border," click the picture:

( PS- my personal prediction? That picture will become one of the most widely distributed, and hated, pictures on the internet. The Illegal Invader lobby could not have done more damage to themselves with that "Mexican Flag Superior, America in Distress" shot if they had tried... )
