Rendell's glad Swann doesn't get cable

By Eric Heyl TRIBUNE-REVIEW Friday, March 31, 2006

Excerpts from Gov. Ed Rendell's diary: March 29, 2006

Dear Diary,

Whew! Dodged a bullet today.

My buddies over at Comcast, where I work part-time during the fall as a football commentator, announced they are capping raises this year for their top executives at $12 million. I got word of that and I started sweating like a, I don't know, like a sweating governor or something.

He doesn't need a new voting block as long as phantom residents vote in Philly; probably the only city with 105% of its residents voting in the last election.

And Rendell just vetoed a bill to require ID to vote. More dead voting in Philly; details at 6.

Great post. I've spread it around.

A friend tells me that the major law firm she works for was given tax amnesty for 10 years for moving from one center city Phila location to another. Also, everyone in the firm still pays city wage taxes and of course commuting costs (vs. a potential move to the burbs) but the Sr. executives are exempted from City Wage tax.

Cute.

I swear, I nearly got tremors. I kept thinking Swann was going to ask how I could have the audacity to dish out almost $43 million in public money to a company that obviously can afford to pay one of my political cronies and four of his co-workers as much as $60 million just in bonuses.

Rendell is the most corrupt Governor in Pennsylvania's history.

I hope Swann starts hitting hard on Rendell's crookedness as the campaign heats up.
