Father of LaFave's boy toy: Debra should have got jail
worldnetdaily ^ | March 27, 2006

Editor's note: The newest edition of Whistleblower magazine pulls the covers off the shocking number of cases of lust-filled teachers, especially women, who have sexual relations with their students. Find out more here!

The father of the 14-year-old Florida boy who had sex with teacher Debra LaFave is outraged the woman is getting off the hook without any time in prison.

"I think she should have gone to jail, I've stuck by that all along," said the boy's father, whose name was withheld during an interview last night on the Fox News Channel. "It's a horrible, ugly thing that she's done."

The decision to drop charges came after the judge rejected a plea deal that would have meant no prison time for LaFave. The judge said the agreement, with no prison time, "shocks the conscience of this court."

"We're very upset. I don't feel there were enough consequences of actions. Hopefully all involved [are] conscious of the pain our son and family has endured," the boy's father said. "There's no remorse at all. She didn't take responsibility for anything."

Part of the reason the case did not go to trial was the lack of willingness by the victim's family to go through a public hearing, especially without guarantees television cameras would be kept out of the courtroom.

The father said he's hoping some legislation gets passed to help protect young people who are victims of sexual assault.

I knew she'd walk.

The prosecution knew that all they need is one male juror grinning, "That poor, poor kid. Having to nail a hot blonde three times a week. How will he ever recover from the trauma ?"

What follows, folks will be mostly a justification for a "double standard". It's OK for women to exploit boys. Most of that will come from "men" on FR who still entertain fantasies we've had for 30 years.

And men who exploit girls are "perverts".

Don't waste your time. Go to the next post.

she didn't quite walk. She got the same deal in another county.
The former teacher still faces three years of house arrest and seven years probation in Hillsborough County, where she was charged.

Course, it's almost a walk.

This woman committed the worst possible violation of the teacher - student relationship. She should be wearing an orange jumpsuit. Here sentence was a slap in the face.

If he felt that strongly he should have encouraged his son to testify or at least cooperate more with law enforcement. The boy may be damaged more than we know, and afraid of coming forward out of fear of being laughed at by those who think he should be counting his lucky stars, but the father has to realize that a trial cannot go forward without the cooperation of witnesses.

It is not uncommon for a boy in such cases to be damaged. A well publicized case in San Antonio, Texas fifteen or so years ago involved a boy who was having an affair with an attractive teacher. He bragged about it but was obviously not ready to handle the emotional toll and he ended up committing suicide.

She has no remorse. She'll do it again and go to jail eventually.

Boys and girls are different.

All a teenage boy thinks about is nookie. So getting to nail a hot blonde several times a week is what any teenage boy would want. That's just the way they are. A penis, some musculature to maneuver it, and just barely enough brain power to move it.

And besides, hasn't popular culture always had this "Summer of 42", "Private Lessons", "Tea and Sympathy" routine ?

I thought that was what Jessica's Law was all about? Protecting children from sex predators.

Hey! That's not true. When I was a teenage boy I thought about motorcyles.....a little.

And the boy has had the bar set impossibly high.

Dad's jealous.

Either that or insane. His reaction, in ddition to making his son the laughing stock forever, will ultimately do more damage to the kid than the "crime" itself.

Overacting, or overreacting, is seldom a good thing.

Poor kids gonna end up gay...

Well, without your son's testimony, there is no evidence!

I understand these people not wanting to be part of a trial. They have to understand that without their participation there couldn't have been much of a trial.

Publius, Publius,

What have you been putting in your pipe tonight? After an affair with an arguably attractive blonde, on what basis will the antics of the father or anyone else, cancel the sexual experiences of the boy with the female teacher and thus make him 'gay'?

US Constitution, Amendment VI: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

...the boy's father, whose name was withheld....

Naturally.

My wild guess would be confusion and guilt, mostly unnecessary.
