"Amazing, Bush refusing to even utter the word "illegal"."

This is the one issue that pi$$es me off with President Bush. His statement that we should not fear immigrants is correct but out of context. No one is fearing immigrants. It is the ILLEGAL immigrants that are a threat, that are an economic drain, that are trashing the border towns and creating havoc. They don't pay taxes, but they get all the benefits of citizenship. That is a rip off.

It matters not a damn what laws or plans they come up with, it will all come to naught. The pols have never funded or mandated resources to enforce immigration laws on the books, it is all smoke and mirrors BS.

The RINOS are in the pockets of fat cat employers of illegals. I spit on spineless politicians of all stripes for not protecting America, and Bush is at the front of the line.

Isn't he. He's also stuck on the religion of peace lie. Doing the jobs Americans won't do lie.

Why is that "amazing?"

When has Bush ever taken the side of American citizens, over that of illegal aliens from Mexico?

Or in defense of our interests, as opposed to those of Vincente Fox?

That's because right then he was talking to LEGAL immigrants about LEGAL immigrants, not ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. I have no time to read this thread. I read your initial comment and thought, how could anyone get anything so wrong.

I heard his entire speech 4 times.

Toward the end he was speaking no longer at all on the issue of what to do about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. At that point, he told a group of new American citizens who were sworn in today that America should not fear IMMIGRATION. He spoke of how this is a nation built by IMMIGRANTS. Who then became AMERICANS (just like Ronald Reagan said...no matter what country they came from, they became AMERICANS).

I don't speak here in support of his particular plan on ILLEGALS. There are good and not good aspects to it, as there are to most of the plans to address the issue I have seen. I speak in the name of truth and fairness.

The record needs to be set straight and the President not knee-jerked to death by the knee-jerkers who don't even bother to learn the facts before they start bleating their ceaseless, inane and nasty insults.

Really, people who break our laws with the first step they take in our country can't be trusted. However, the biggest criminals are the government officials who refuse to enforce our laws.
