Immigration legislation before the Senate this week should include a condemnation of rapes by alien smugglers on the U.S.-Mexico border and encourage "in the strongest possible terms" the Mexican government to prevent such crimes, a Florida congresswoman said. "These women and young girls are being raped all along the southern border, and the sight of women's undergarments hanging from border fences as trophies is appalling," said Republican Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite. "They are entrusting their futures to these smugglers, or coyotes, to bring them across the border, but instead of gaining freedom, they're being raped and exploited.

...encourage "in the strongest possible terms" the Mexican government to prevent such crimes,...

That'll be a big help, because the Mexican government is just SO concerned about making us happy.

Is it necessary for the US senate to be passing legislation to condemn crimes? Seems kind of pointless. How about enforcing laws we already have and locking up felons? Wouldn't that make more sense?

Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 called on Congress to condemn the rapes by smugglers along the border
Oh, that ought to do it!(/sarcasm)

This is nothing new. Not only are there lots of prostitutes just south of the border, there are illegal 'Cat houses" all over the country. A lot of them just service other illegals. Plenty of OTM 'houses' also.

There is this side to the immigration debate. Illegals are abused like crazy in this scheme. It is not loving nor is it respectful to Hispanic people for the US keep the status quo of illegal immigration knowing it leaves illegals open to all degrees of violence and crime.

It is like when we were discussing reform of criminal justice to require minimum terms for violent offenders to prevent feel good liberal judges from letting them out to harm innocent people. Reform was called racist because a "disproportionate" number of violent criminals were Black men. Finally conservatives said loud and clear that innocent black Americans were the ones being terrorized and murdered by these criminals and there is nothing loving about turning loose this mob on Black people in the cities. That truth shut the race baiters down.
