Whiny children, claims a new study, tend to grow up rigid and traditional. Future liberals, on the other hand ...
Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a conservative.
At least, he did if he was one of 95 kids from the Berkeley area that social scientists have been tracking for the last 20 years. The confident, resilient, self-reliant kids mostly grew up to be liberals.

Toronto's newspaper has a "Red Star"?
So the kids who need consant help from the teacher are conservative? And the self-reliant children are liberal? Sounds backwards to me.
What cr*p. Libs attempting to make themselves feel better by claiming they were confident and self-assured as three-year olds. Great. They sure lose all that when they become adults.
It has become a rock-solid law of politics, that liberals accuse conservatives of doing EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO.
Sounds like the kids that had everthing handed to them and everything they wanted turned out to be liberal....go figure.
He cannot be the only teen bucking this study.
Public brainwashing, just like the MSM. "Say it enough and people will believe" attempt.
Jonah Goldberg discusses this at today's NRO.

I want to know something: If conservatives are "whiny", "nervous", and think everyone is "out to get them", how does this square with the poll (which encompasses far more subjects and is much more quantitative) that shows Republican conservatives are happier than liberal democrats? Why are these "self-reliant", "confident" children growing up to be so miserable? Why are the "whiny", "unsure" children growing up to be so happy? Could it be as simple as this study is bullcrap?
What do you expect ? The "scientists" are from Bezerkely !!
Maybe it depends on their definition of confident, resilient, and self-reliant. Rudeness and egotism equals confidence, constantly defying authority equals resilience, and self-abosorption with no thought for others equal self-reliant.
I have a very resilient and self-confident Star Scout, patrol leader, in my home, age 15, who is very traditional and conservative.
He cannot be the only teen bucking this study.
Hes not, I'm 18 and I have several friends in the military who are also 18 and are very conservative and if you called them whiny and not self-confident youd be likely to get a five finger sandwhich!
Well, think about it. This study was done in a nursery school. Is it really conservative to put your kid in a nursery school anyway?
