WASHINGTON -- Democratic insiders take seriously a possible new try for the presidency by Al Gore and say he is capable of raising more money than the presumptive front-runner, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Clinton's team has attempted to foreclose conventional Democratic money sources, drying up funding for her potential presidential rivals. She has $17.1 million cash on hand, more than any other possible candidate. Her current fund-raising tour is aimed at an additional $40 million.
However, party operatives believe former Vice President Gore can outdo Clinton through unconventional fund-raising on the Internet. By campaigning left of Clinton, Gore appeals to ardent anti-war Democrats. Gore's first presidential run in 1988 positioned him as the centrist candidate, to the right of eventual nominee Michael Dukakis.

Emphasis of obvious added. 2008 ought to clearly expose our Hildebeast as a hard core leftist regardless of
Old Media working nonstop to try to flood the zone with puff pieces. :)

Gore vs. Hillary would split the PLA vote. Who is a Communist Chinese agent to support?

"Left and lefter."
Sounds win/win for Republicans - Either Gore pulls Hillary left and she gstill wins or Gore runs left and wins. Either way Hillary's "centrist" position is blown.

Please don't throw me in that briar patch!
Please don't let AlGore run!!!!!!!!

By campaigning left of Clinton, Gore appeals to ardent anti-war Democrats.
My concern is that Hillary uses Gore to make herself look moderate by comparision rather than running to the left to outflank Gore. If she comes out of the primaries looking 'mainstream' due to spin, the GOP is going to have a heck of a time painting her with 'old news' of Hillarycare, stock deals, Whitewater, etc.

If the Republicans had a solid candidate....I would just be loving the prospect of the Dem primaries with Hillary, Kerry, Gore fighting it out...
BUT, I am not so sure that OURS will be much less "interesting".

Colud this make the Democratic Party erupt in a civil war?

That picture sure shows that hillary is still a don't care about appearance hippy as she was in much younger days.
To: Milhous
Well if the Republicans/Conservatives do not eat their own between now and 2008, it just might be fun to watch an out and out liberal show.
Wonder who has the winner scream, maybe we could have a contest like they have for the 'pig' callers.
To: Milhous
Hillary has always scared me, but the thought of AlGore just terrifies me beyond belief.
To: miliantnutcase
Agreed, Killery is at least rational and evil.
Gore is irrational and evil and bitter.
I really do not think Hillery is going to run and would lose if she did. Bill is a very large albatross around her neck
