Milestones Reached On Stock Market
Russell ^ | 03/14/2006 | Indexes

Posted on 03/15/2006 1:09:26 PM PST by Dont_Tread_On_Me_888

Many of the major stock indexes have hit 5 year highs. The Dow Jones 30, the SP 500 included.

Some indexes are at all time highs, such as Russell 2000 and some of the other mid cap and small cap indexes.

It was not due to a major surge today, as the indexes were up modestly today. It is just that the trend has been up and we were near the highs.

On particular source is hard to pinpoint since we are dealing with stock indexes. You will see a lot about this on the business news shows. Tune into CNBC if you want the update.

Goldman Sachs yesterday posted earnings far above estimates and the bond prices have stabilized. Oil fears are there but are not showing up in oil prices as they are down about $10 from the peak of fear.

It is amazing that most Amerians still say the economy is in terrible shape. My mom called me almost in tears last week about the economy and asked if I felt it would "ever recover". When I told her that the economy is so strong the biggest fear is the Fed will raise rates to cool it off, she thought I was nuts.

The most stark negative about the GOP and President Bush is (besides their social welfare spending) is the fact they are atrocious in getting the true word out to the American public. The RATs would be beating the drums like never before if they were in office.

Exactly! Scott McClellan is a disaster, as are Cheney and other GOP leaders.

Bingo! I agree. The GOP's marketing prowess is pathetic.

If the MSM doesn't carry it, the majority of people don't know it. That is not Bush's fault, that is the fault of the media. The facts are put out regularly by the administration.

George Bush's job is to run this nation, not be a news announcer.

The Press Secretary, Bush, Cheney, the whole administration are too business like--they lack passion when getting the positive word out on positive events.

Maybe they come from business, like Cheney, who assumes (incorrectly) that "everybody will know the facts".

But, the fact is the American public is highly ignorant, and they don't know what many feel is such basic info that "everybody knows it". They don't! The ignorant public must be given info like they are a bunch of retards (which they are).

This is why the RATs are successful marketers and the GOP are such losers when it comes to informing the masses.

My parents also think CBS/ABC/NBC evening news really is.

Yet who runs the WH and the congress?

You can be successful marketing crap...but it still is crap.

"The most stark negative about the GOP and President Bush is (besides their social welfare spending) is the fact they are atrocious in getting the true word out to the American public"

Just how are they going to do that?

With the help of NBC?
CBS?
ABC?
CNN?
MSNBC?
PBS?

Even if Ari were to come back, if the networks don't carry it, the public isn't going to know about it.

Done.

What you see here is a huge surge in the economy in general (as represented by RUT, the Russell 2000, a measure of smaller cap stocks. And, you see the long greased slide downhill, laced with WD-40, of the New York Slimes, so typical of MSM news and Hollyweird (thugs singing about pimps on prime time Oscars night, etc).

True, true, true. You ask 10 people how the economy is doing and 8 will tell you it is terrible, sucks, people unemployed by the millions, low pay, no benefits, high gas prices (gotta add that in, alway do). They think the sky is falling because it is on the news everyday and on the front page every day. Tell the market is at 11,000 and they say, "I don't got no stocks." When I ask them if they have a 401k plan at work, they say no, I cannot afford one, while taking a drag off their $5.00 a pack smokes. America is in trouble because so many are uneducated on what the hell is actually going on in the world beside a 30-second soundbite on CNN.

You are dead wrong.

The GOP and Bush have the ability to MAKE news with their choice of words. They have the biggest potential bully pulpit in the world. If you have bland, boring speakers, the networks will not cover them, and that is the GOP.

How do you think the ugly hick James Carville gets so much national press coverage? Because he says shocking things, not because he has good looks or talks like a human!

Bush and the GOP have the marketing skill of the biggest loser on the Apprentice. Donald Trump would fire the entire roll call of GOP Senators, Congressmen, Bush and the whole Bush team if they were Trump salespeople or marketers.

"The ignorant public must be given info like they are a bunch of retards"

You condemn RATS, then turn around and sound just like one, intentionally or not. The executive branch needs to get off their high horse and deign to inform and persuade. People are involved in their day to day lives, and still only "know" what goes on in distant DC from what they hear on the evening news, by and large.
