I swear I'm not making this up:
This past June I was coming back to Illinois from Cheyenne, Wyoming on I-80 in Western Nebraska it was mid afternoon and it started to get dark, I had my radio on and they were giving warnings for specific counties, being ignorant of the geography of the area they didn't mean a lot to me.
I didn't need a radio though to tell me that I was smack in the middle of it. I was clipping along at about 70 mph and I noticed up ahead a car pulled over to the shoulder and a man standing beside it taking pictures off to the right of the road. As I got closer I noticed two things. California plates and what he was photographing.
Off in a wide open field were three rather large tornados, I could not tell which direction they were moving but I followed conventional wisdom and continued where I was going, which was at a right angle to the tornados. I increased my speed to about 100 miles an hour and there were people passing me.
I've wondered what happened to the California liberal, I know he was a liberal because no conservative is that damn dumb.
Decatur is ok right now....but the storm is heading here...I'm right outside south of Decatur....................
Decided to watch TV. TONADO WARNING WAGONER, MAYES, CRAIG, and ROGERS COUNTIES.
Gonna sign off. Enormous rotation and wall clouds just west of Coweta. Big time hook. Biggest storm in region. Another wall cloud outside Claremore.
Any FReepers in Coweta, Wagoner, Hulbert, Choteau, Inola Pryor, Claremore, Okay, Tahlequah keep your eyes in the sky. Storms moving around 60 mph and moving NE about 45 degree angle.
Winds really whippingat my house. Low rumbles of thunder.
Let you know what happens.

I'm still carrying my Palm III from 1998. I tried a Treo 650 with the camera, Palm OS and unlimited National Access. The phone crashed about 10 times a day. After 10 days, I returned it to Verizon and upgraded to the Samsung sch-i730. Much better. 1XEV-DO. No camera. Few crashes. The Treo 650 did not transfer my phone list, calendar, task list or notes. As a replacement Palm device it was worthless. As a phone it was unreliable. It was a fine looking bit of hardware.
I hope you find the 700w with Windows more satisfactory. If nothing else, the browser is superior to the lame offering under PalmOS. I'm still carrying my Palm III and the Samsung sch-i730. Some habits die hard. I'm seriously thinking of returning to a simple phone and getting a 1XEV-DO PCMCIA card for the PC at the end of my current contract. A T-Mobile/Ericsson GC89 might be satisfactory as well.
Thank you!
Uncertain of the reliability because they're people on other forums reporting on local Springfield radio and TV, but there are apparently power flashes in western springfield and lightning lighting up an apparent wedge tornado there.
new county in Illinois!!!
