Am surprised that the committee investigating the ports deal didn't ask Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R) NJ about the fact that his father Peter is the nephew of H. Edward Bilkey's (the Dubai Ports CEO that testified to the committee investigating the ports deal) mother. Peter's father (the late Senator and Rodney's grandfather) is the nephew of Mr. Bilkey's mother Emily. I think that Rodney came out against the ports deal after this fact was first raised when Mr. Bilkey mentioned that his "father" was a senator in a interview with Wolf Blitzer. Mr. Bilkey in reality is the grandson of J.S. Frelinghuysen the senator. The real twist and I think the "scoop" will be if Rodney being on the Sub-Committee of Defense, sat in on any of the oversight committee reviews discussing the deal before the deal became public. Also would like to know if the accounting firm of Ernst/Young is handleing the transaction.
What you say!
They asked Bilkey in the hearings and he said he is related to him.
That's nice. Let the deal go through and tell Michael Savage to shove his congenital hatred of Arabs up his tukkas!
Ted Bilkey, Yale '56, died yesterday in the DR at age 72. One of his relatives on his mother's side once ran for VP with Henry Clay. (They lost). His grandfather left the Senate in 1924. Ted spoke Arabic.
RIP Ted.
Do a search on the Frelinghausen family and you will see the many founding fathers, generals and public servants were in this family. A great American family.
