The California Democratic Party is asking for an investigation of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sen. John McCain for alleged violations of campaign finance law.
The allegations center on a scheduled March 20th fund-raiser in Beverly Hills in which donors have been asked to contribute up to 100 thousand dollars for the governor and the state Republican Party. McCain is the featured speaker at the event.
At issue is whether McCain's appearance violates restrictions on federal officeholders taking part in events that solicit political funds.
Ironically, McCain is being accused of violating a law he helped write.
Katie Levinson, a spokeswoman for the governor's campaign, called the complaint "nothing more than frivolous nonsense."

Why does the BrokeBackMounting Party always want to probe someone?
Why?
What has McPain done that would lead you to believe he is not a professional hypocrite?
He was instrumental in stripping us of OUR first amendment rights, but retains his.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
There is a delicious irony about it, isn't there?
I was at a loss for words.
I would be delighted to see McLame brought down by his own unconstitutional law.
LOLOL...oh I just love it!
the repubs love to cave, and throw their own under the bus,
with regard to McCain, this is one time I'd love to see them do it.
probe probe probe (/austrian)
I have an awful feeling "probe", and "brokeback" are going to be popular words with these two. Ha.
McCain? Why.. he wrote the book on Campaign Finance! How could he have ever broken the law? Never! Never I say.. how ludicrous.
I thought the laws didn't apply to them?
bump
Mister John McCain might be surprised by this turn of events. I'm not. His little friends, the Democrats, it's what they do.
McCain and Arnie are just a little too popular* right now, so it's time to (figuratively) take them out.
Speaking of surprises, watch McCain's little friends in MSM turn on him and try to squash him like a little hemipteran. They're Dems also, it's what they do.
No problem, Mister McCain can always count on Republican support. Oh, wait...
*Arnie is down currently a bit in the polls, but has an excellent chance of rebounding and beating a Dem challenger.
.
and takes care of North Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuela....etc.
hmmm..now when republicans go after McCain they are accused of questioning his patriotism. I geuss the same rules apply to democrats as well. Right? LOL!
And Hillary Clinton still gets away with the biggest campaign finance fraud in history. When are the Republicans going to talk about it?
Speaking of "The Maverick"TM, and his anti-free speech law, here's what I would like to see happen.
I hope that he is brought up on charges for violating his own law. Then I hope that it is fought all the way to the Supreme Court. Since we now have a sane SC (we hope), I don't see how they would have any other choice but to declare Campaign Finance Reform an unconstitutional violation of the first amendment.
Think about it. McCain writes a law making "nonapproved" political speech illegal, gets indicted for breaking said law, goes to the Supreme Court where he is both exonerated for his "crime" and at the same time completely discredited by having his own law declared illegal. It would be the mother of all irony!
Great tagline. :)
