In the MSM usage, a neo-con is generally a Jewish conservative.

***what the heck is a "neo-con"?****

A neo-con is a conservative who supports Israel.....of couse a conservative who does not support Israel is an anti-semite.....unless of course he's a college professor where any criticism of him would of course be McCarthyism.

I asked that question about a year ago here on FR and got several answers. I think what it boils down to it is a liberal who woke up on 9-11 and realizes a head in the sand policy just won't cut it this time.

Mainly Jews are pegged to be neo-cons. I live in a community that has many Jews and they are an interesting lot. On one hand they are very conservative when it comes to the Constitution but on the other hand they usually fall for left wing propaganda. ( the left is for the little guy and appeasement is the key to peace. Yada, yada...)

But I'd say a small chunk of them reads history and understands that Israel (and us) will be nuked if somebody doesn't do anything, Those who believe this seem to be a big part of the currently defined neo-con movement.
