While the Western press paints Ahmadinejad as if he is all alone in expecting the Mahdi, the sad fact is that he is just one of millions. For the last few decades, Muslims (both Sunni and Shi'ite) have been deluged with "evidence" from the Hadith that these are the Last Days, that the Western nations are the Dajjal, and that very soon the Mahdi will come who will destroy the Dajjal and establish a worldwide Islamic utopia under shar'ia law.

They think that their victory is predestined. Even threatening them with nukes will not help, because the imams have been preaching that Allah can suspend the laws of physics, so that if a nuclear bomb is set off, no Muslims or Muslim property will be destroyed, but Allah will make the wind will carry the radioactivity back upon the Westerners. And soon Ahmadinejad will have his own nukes to use to "pave the way for the Mahdi."
For Shi'ites, the Mahdi will be the 12th imam, returning after centuries of hiding, while for Sunnis, the Mahdi will be someone who restores the caliphate.
These articles tend to portray the Mahdi just as some "charismatic Muslim leader" -- but a better desccription is "the Muslim prophesied to kill every infidel on Earth and convert the survivors."
Thanks for the rather excellant view on how invincible they feel they are. More westerners have to understand what we are dealing with. I continue to think however, people like GWB have been educated on these things but must put on a front that makes it appear we are not against them in hopes of settling them down etc.. I would communicate more but must soon ready for travel this weekend.

You're right. Just look at the results of the riots in LA. The ghetto masses are now the most powerful people that dominate America. Right.
