How can you possibly trust anyone that was former KGB????
It's worth noting that our own George Washington was, for a time, Colonel in the British army and served as an aide to the British General Edward Braddock. Somehow, despite his past, we saw fit to trust him as a military leader and then as President.

At the time he was a British officer it was the only game in town. Putin has never been a liberator of the russian people just a govt wonk following and now making policy.

I don't know if it's a fair comparison; the British and Communist Russia.

Putin has promoted a hardliner, Sergi Ivanov, to be defence minister AND prime minister. The KPRF approved, with glee, of this move.
